"Aah," Ramada said with a sigh as she appeared in the Cantina.  "This's exactly where I need to be."

She smiled at the bartender as she went to sit in a table and think about what exactly it was that she would like to eat.

Preferably something with chickpeas, because chickpeas were filling.

A plate of chickpea pakoora were set in front of her, but not by the furry hand of one of the usual waitresses.

She muttered "thank you" reflexively before she realized that something was different about whomever was serving her food.

And then she looked up and dropped her fork and screamed.

"Tell me you're not who I think you are."

Rhea winced as the entire cantina went silent and glanced their way before resuming business. "Hi, Maataa."

"...They weren't lying to me," Ramada sighed. "Well. How are you, then?"

[random_xtras]

"I didn't know," said Rhea softly, reaching out to touch it.

[crazy_mardi]

"Sal didn't want me to keep it; she figured those scientists would hunt me down or something. Which wasn't exactly anything to worry about, because we were gone from that place within days." She handed Rhea the tube.

"Do you still need to give it out?"

"No... I got everyone but Atin. And he's found his own answer." She fingered the tube carefully, her grey eyes thoughtful as she mused on the different life this Ramada must have led compared to her mother's. "Now I'm working on a solution to keeping three little boys from growing up too fast. But the slorgbaits who messed with their DNA were better at it than the Kaminoans."

"Have you figured out what modifications they made?" Ramada's inner scientist was coming out again. "I'm assuming it's a bit more complex than speeding up the G1 phase..."

Rhea raked a hand through her hair. "Do you know anyone else who might have ideas?"

"Well, you already talked to Kree, and I have the Kaminoans covered..." Her frown deepened. "Off the top of my head? No."

[random_xtras]

Her alternate daughter growled and did the hair raking thing again. "Well, let's look at all the diagrams. Maybe God'll show us what we're missing."

[crazy_mardi]

"Entirely possible." Ramada nodded and had a few pakoora. "In addition, I can always put out a general call for expertise. Being connected to the multiverse has advantages like that. We might find someone with the exact knowledge we require."

"No. It just means we talk to her about normal stuff and leave Charlie and the multiverse out of it."

[crazy_mardi]

"That's easy enough to do."

[random_xtras]

Rhea nodded. "She knows a bit... she tends to view two neighboring realities as both her homes. So we don't have to cut it out completely."

[crazy_mardi]

"Okay. Then the problem is this... we'd have to get samples to her. I'd assume bringing her here to work is out of the question."

[lynn_logan]

Lynn reached for her notebook and a pencil and started doodling chemical sequences, her expression totally focused.

Rhea watched her for a moment, then looked questioningly to Ramada.

Ramada looked at Rhea. "What?"

"What is she doing?" she whispered. "I don't understand anything she's putting down there."

"It's how she operates," Ramada whispered back. "She corrected one of my sequences in the same way before... she'll use compounds you never thought to use..."
