... Ok, so I'm just gonna continue, not make it all one post... so...
First of all, I want to show you those two pictures I mentioned before of the guests in their lobster bibs:
Eventually I left, to get ready for the panel... I went to change, and went to the room, about a half hour early... it looked like they had just started to set up... I poked my head in after a few minutes to check on it, and one of the guys said that two girls had been there to check as well. A line had started to form at this point... and Nobu was like... kneeling on the floor talking to the people in the front. XD
Then Javier got there! Yay! Finally everyone was there! So I went to call Jen to see if they were around... and accidentally called Jon instead... so I talked to him for a couple minutes, and as I did so, Jen walked up, so that all worked out anyway. ^_^ Then I tried calling Sherrie... she didn't answer, and I sent her a text, like she said to. Then I was getting a little worried, but she got there in time and it was all good. Until one of the setup guys asked us to come help move lighting equipment... Javier and I went... but we ended up having to go back before we got anything done.
There were a lot more people at the panel than I expected. At first we didn't have a mic, so it was hard for the people in the back to hear us. Then Bryan asked if I wanted him to go back and help them if they needed help. ^_^ He's such a great guy. So he went back and helped the back part of the room. Javier and I did the routine reversed, with Jen and Sherrie facing backwards. Eventually we got them to the point where they could do it with us all facing them and doing it the right way.
Javier and I went to get his stuff then, and took it up to the room. Then we hung out, practiced a little bit, but mostly just did random para in front of the window.
This reminds me that I haven't mentioned the layout of the hotel... There were two towers, which had 29 floors. The part between only went up to 5. Anyway... the towers faced each other, so everyone on the North side of the South Tower (as we were) and everyone on the South side of the North tower could look across and see the people from the other tower. This was a large source of entertainment over the course of the weekend.
Anyway, as I was saying, we were just dancing in front of the window. This elicited reactions from a few people in the rooms across from us. This happened a lot over the weekend. We eventually came to be known as 'The Dancing Room'. XD
So later, Javier's boyfriend came and picked him up, and they went out, and I just sort of hung out in the room, because I was tired... Though at one point I went to check out the Green Room to see if anyone was there (Sherry got me a key for it right before the panel. She's so great. ^_^). There was someone sleeping in there, but that was all, so I went back to my room, because I didn't want to disturb that person. So Javier got back, and we went to sleep. Soundcheck was early the next morning.
Saturday
Like I said, Soundcheck (well... it was more of a rehearsal than just a soundcheck) was early the next day. We all went to that, of course... then we went back to the room to practice some more. Again, this degenerated into window para. We had to be back for the -real- soundcheck, and then we'd be selling Yoko fanclub merchandise (Fans and Glowsticks) before the concert, during seating. So we did that. Then it came time to go backstage.
We tried to practice some more backstage, but that didn't work very well... it's hard to follow a song in your head with another song playing... really loudly... so we went out the other side of Main Events (attendees weren't allowed in that area) and practiced during the first part of the concert. We made really good progress this time. ^_^; We went backstage again, and waited our time to go on. Then it came.... ^____^
So we run out on stage to applause. I introduced everyone. Oh... Hehe. Sorry I keep remembering things I should have already said as background info... Anyway... Nobu wanted pictures of the dancers ahead of time, and Javier had sent me three pictures, which I sent to Nobu. Nobu printed up these little handouts for everybody (the people who went to that first meeting) which included a picture of each of the dancers. And the picture he chose to include of Javier was this:
And when we were doing the run through at soundcheck, when Yoko saw Javier for the first time, she said something to Michiko about Burger King. XD And then when I did the introductions in practice, when I introduced Javier, I said he was the Burger King.
He didn't expect me to introduce him the same way at the concert. >D
So anyway, we did our thing, I managed to smile the whole time, and refrain from singing along. I even pointed out a girl dressed as Freya (Dark Chii) when Yoko mentioned Chii cosplayers before Let Me Be With You. Then, for Asu he no Brilliant Road (which is what we taught at the panel), Yoko asked for people who had gone to come up front and dance with us on the floor in front of the stage. I was surprised by both how many people came up front, and how well they did, considering that if they practiced since the day before, they had to have done so without music...
So after the concert, we went back to the room again, for a bit of window para, and we changed and went for food, but not a lot, since we'd be eating dinner with Yoko later. Upon further exploring the food court, I noticed this place, and couldn't -not- take a picture:
Hrm... now that I think about it... the lunch may have been before the concert, not after... but anyway...
Then, back to the room for a bit more window para... and then we kinda split up for a bit... I wandered for a little bit, and before I knew it, it was time to meet up for dinner, so I went back to the starbucks. Once everyone had arrived, we set out for the restaurant... the name of which I forget... but it had this sign:
While we were eating, I got a call from
tequilaissexy. That was a little random, but it was nice to know people think about me when I'm not there. ^_^; When we were done eating, Yoko gave us all gifts. The dancers got paper lanterns... mine said "Be careful of Fire"
Then, Sherrie and Javier each got a picture of just them and Yoko. Here's Javier's. XD
Yoko stuck her hand out like that... it took Javier (and me too, if not all of us) a second to realize what she was doing... then he put his hand up, too. It was great.
Then we went up to the room again to teach Bryan the para for Cruel Angel's Thesis, which was one of the two songs (that and Asu he no Brilliant Road) that would be performed by Yoko at the dance. Again, this eventually degenerated into window para... but this time people started calling our room... asking if it was the 'Dancing Room'. We couldn't figure out how people were getting our room number to call us... Eventually we asked. It turns out that the room above us had their room number on their window. We also asked the room calling us what they had used to write on their window with (they had stuff on their window, too). They told us soap! So we wrote our room number on our window. Then the phone was ringing off the hook... Bryan served as our operator, answering the calls and switching lines as neccessary. I liked the one that was like "Hello, Dancing room" "Hey, Macarena?" "Sorry, wrong number." ::click:: That was great.
Then a group of girls actually came to our room from the other tower. XD That was cool. We gave them a mini-performance, then we had to take off for the dance.
The dance performance was weird... we had to figure out how we were going to arrange ourselves, due to the addition of Bryan... But we just sort of lined up. So we did our thing, then left the dance. Stephan caught me at that point, and finally got me to record comments about the convention. The other dancers (even Bryan) recorded some, too. ^_^ That was fun. There was a bit of drama that cropped up during this for Javier... so he decided to go ahead and head home that night, rather than the next day... I didn't want him to go... because he was really tired...
Anyway... I had to leave in the morning as well, so we split up after the comment thing. I gave out hugs. (I even got a hug from Bryan. And a -real- hug. That was cool.) Then Javier and I went back to the room. We both packed up. I called Sherry to see if I could get a ride to the airport in the morning, and then I helped Javier back to his car with his stuff. Hugged him goodbye, then it was back to the room and bed. I waved goodnight and goodbye to the people in the other tower, who seemed to be waiting for more dancing... ^_^; and went to bed.
Sunday
I got up, showered, met up with Michelle outside the Green Room, checked out, and headed to the airport for the trip home. That's about it for Sunday. I missed Yoko's panel, but it couldn't be helped.
General, or stuff I forgot when it happened
Well... only a couple things, really... I went to Johnny Yong Bosch's panel. One thing I remember about that was that he explained how he got the part on Power Rangers. The other thing was that I thought it was strange that the guests could just walk around, and people didn't pay any attention to them... I passed Johnny at least three times in the hall, and nobody paid any attention to him... one of the times, I nodded to him, and he sorta-waved back. ^_^;
Oh, and this one's for Javier: I present, the Ghetto-vator:
This was a service elevator. Only, except needing a key to get on it, or having it behind a "Employees Only" door... it was right next to the other ones, with just buttons to call it, so people were using it, which caused it to be turned off. XD Being a service elevator, it smelled like, as Javier put it, 'evaporated foot sweat'. Also, on the actual rooming floors, it came out inside the little room where the soda and ice machines were.
That's about it. I can't think of anything else. So, yeah.
