Decisions
Naptime was going to be a nice peaceful time for me. I was going to nap with my baby boy. Not with him, but I got him down very easily and I was looking foward to taking a nap myself since I rarely get the chance to do that these days. Im dosing off and I get a phone call from my neighbor. Her 11 year old daughter doesnt feel like going with her to pick up her son from school. So she asked me if her daughter can come over here while she got her son.
Now what is confusing me is that we just talked to her about using her daughter as a mothers helper. Typically having her watch and play with J while I do things aroud the house and cant have him disrupt or interfere. We did talk about having her stay in the house with J while I ran quick errands. Mostly I would do that when J was sleeping so not much 'help' would be needed, but it would mean responsibility and being in charge of the house.
What baffles me is that when her mom goes to pick up her brother she would be alone for all of a half an hour. I dont know if I am really comfortable with using her as a mothers helper in the way I was thinking if she cant stay in her own home for a maximum of a half hour by herself. There would have been nothing wrong with her telling me that she was leaving her in the house and to be prepaired if she banged on my door or called me. Now I have to sit here and wait for them to show up and skip my whole nap completely.
