It's been awhile, eh?? I meant to update way earlier, but... life gets busy, eh?

I'll start with The Passion, since that's what I was so excited about the last time I wrote... Clearly, it was an extremely moving film, in that instead of trying to put yourself in the roles of the people in normal movies, you are individually a part of the story you're watching. Its an extremely personal experience unlike any other movie i've yet seen.
My only complaint was the end... I feel like, to show as much as they did of WHAT happened to Christ, you should at counter that with WHY... the Resurrection is such a message of hope, and I didn't feel like it got enough emphasis.
But it was definitely an experience, and I'm so glad I saw it.

The reason I am ABLE to update right now-- I just went to go to my 2nd class of the day, Intro to Theatre Arts. I hate mon, wed, fri, since I have 3 classes in a row in the afternoon (in addition to other morning classes), and they're all really boring lectures... so I went to the first of them today, and saw a notice on the wall that said-

Intro to Theatre Arts 1011 CANCELLED T-TH 12-12:50

So at first I was like, score, right?! And a lot of other people saw it, cheered a little, and then left... but I read it again, and though the class numbers and the time was correct, our class meets MWF... so I went inside to wait, with about 8 other people out of about 60. So at about 12:03 we were in the middle of writing something on the board to explain to the professor why we left, and that we were sorry if class actually was in session... when the professor walked in and was like, WHAA? She tore the notice off the door and said, you guys don't meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, and my night class only meets on tuesdays... and not at noon! She was like, somebody made a big mistake! So then she was acting like we were going to have class anyway, and I got a little sad... but then she looked around and said, Aw heck, go home! How great is that?!? Class cancelled, and it wasn't even supposed to happen!

So I had to give a speech today, 6 minutes in length... I hate writing speeches, it takes FOREVER, and it makes me real nervous... I was totally unprepared as of yesterday too, I hadn't written anything and my topic wasn't developed very well, so last night was pretty stressful... Oh well, it went off well. I think the weirdest part of my public speaking class is that you get recorded every speech you give (we have a total of 4) and we have to critique ourselves... there is little weirder than watching yourself on videotape, but its so much MORE weird when its just you and you're doing your "speech voice" (everyone has one)... what am I gonna do with this tape when the class is over? Ish!

Hey, the other night, I agreed to do this guy Robbie's laundry cuz he was out of clean clothes and was going out with his family, so he didn't have time to do them himself, so I agreed to do a couple of loads for $6, right? It wasn't that bad, I just wore mittens when putting his stuff in the washer (yuck, right?) and then got a lot of homework done while i was waiting... and then I folded them (because no one likes wrinkly clothes..) excluding the personals of course... and I returned them to his room before he got home. So he came to my dorm room the other day and gave me $10! SAWEET! Apparently he was impressed by the folding... what can I say, I do a mean load of laundry. Also, please refrain from calling me a laundry whore (even though that is clearly what I am).

That reminds me, the same night that happened, I got the CREEPIEST call in my dorm room (and if it was anyone that reads this-- it was super creepy and WEIRD)... so the phone rings and I pick it up, and I can barely hear this guy talking, I had to keep saying WHAT? Finally I hear him say, "Are you alone?" I was like, uhhh... no... I was kind of laughing, just cuz it was weird and he said, "Oh, are your roomates there then?" and I said yeah... who the heck are you?? and he said "No one you know... so you really don't have a boyfriend then?" WHAT? So clearly at this point I hung up... it just really creeped me out. I mean, clearly it was a prank call, cuz how would they have known my voice vs. jess' when I answered the phone... unless they knew me. Anyway, even though it was probably a joke, I locked the door immediately after. Creepy city. And not that funny.

Anyway, I have to get going to my other classes... and then to work out (good times....)... but Jess, her friend Maranda and I are going to go to the mall or something tonight, so at least I have that to look forward to, eh??

I hope everyone is doing well... ya know, you people could give me a CALL more often! it gets kind of old to have the only thing people say when you pick up the phone be "hey, is jess there?" (218-788-1280)
Love ya!!
