A very good day... and productive as well. I figured I wouldn't pack until the last second, but I actually got most of it done today, which is fabulous. I like exceeding my own (low) expectations.
Anne came and had dinner with me... which was obviously fantastic. We went to Noodles and Co... then got some Cold Stone and went to Borders... where I got some summer reading (The Screwtape Letters and Mere Christianity, in case you were wondering...)
But something Anne and I were talking about got me to thinking... and relieved some worry. It matters not how my summer goes. Because I have hope for the future, and I know I'm going back to a place that I truly love and to people that I absolutely adore.
But this is true in a much more broad sense... I matters not if this life is unpleasant... if I fail, if I suffer-- because I have hope for the future and I know I'm going back to a place that I'll truly love and a Lord I absolutely adore. Whatta feeling!
"May our Lord Jesus Christ and God our Father, who loved us and in his special favor gave us everlasting comfort and good hope, comfort your hearts and give you strength in every good thing you do and say."
-- 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17
