brandnew last week & the new cd<3
I keep trying to write this entry and I never finish cuz I don't know how. Unfortunately, I'm not good with words, and there are certain experiences that I just wish I was able to explain better! But this new cd means so much to me, and i seriously haven't been able to stop listening to it! On my ipod, in my car, on my computer... whatever I'm doing it's always playing. It's absolutely unbelievable, it's a masterpiece. Listen with headphones, you'll hear something new every time. Such a talented band, god i love them so much. I'm absolutely in love with the music they write. It's a great feeling. I hope everyone has a band or a thing or a person that does to them what this does to me.
what an adventure seeing brandnew last weekend was!
11/17 at the tweeter center
GA pit in front of the seats was great. so few pit tickets are sold so it was still roomy. got to see them on a big stage at a real music venue, but to us it still felt like a small club, it was great. and wow. could words justify that performance? so amazing. by far one of the best performances they have ever given. they went CRAZYY and you could see them pouring all their emotions out on that stage. jesse stage dove. they tore a part the stage, jesse screaming into his guitar pick up. they looked SOOOO happy. the goofy dance jesse did, priceless. vinnie singgging and was enjoyable to watch and not creepy!! brian fucking lane is amazing. garretts hood never left, lol and i love the addition derrick adds. absolutely everything about it was amazing. i was so blown away it brought tears to my eyes. the atmosphere, the people i was with, their performance, i was completely captivated for the time they were on stage in front of me. i didn't have a single other thought in my head. it was fantastic. TEAM BRAND NEW hangs are the best kind. chilling with the entire lacey family at the table next to us outside for all of dashboards set, haha

tommy gun live is unbelievable. i can't get over how they end it. hung out in my car for warmth after the show until we saw mr. lacey come outside. we walked up to the group of people he was talking to and stood on the side. he kept giving us looks as if to be like, don't worry i see you guys. no one else who came by got eyes. after an interesting encounter with a drunk kid trying to get on a bums bike.. jesse came over to where we were standing with his arms wide open and said,"Hey guys.. group hug!" We all nearly died. It was perfect. How did he knew we were joking around for half the night about how great it would be to have a group hug with him? we hung out talking to him for a while, and it didn't even feel like we were talking to this big guy in a band, it just felt like we were all hanging out. he's so chill. and so animated & genuine. we talked about the new album, called him out on staring at the screens inside, the lyric book... i told him how i was waiting until i had the real cd to hear it and it some how got into underage drinking, lol we got him really excited for the instore too. tour manager jamie was not, lol it was getting cold, so after we each had our own hugs and he asked us when he'd be seeing us next we got going. ::insert parking lot freak out session::
then we went to ponzio's diner in cherry hill (thanks to daniellas recomendation) before each heading our seperate directions.
While jackie and I were driving on 295 to get back to the the delaware memorial bridge, i noticed something in front of me in the dark. keep in mind, we're still in nj, it's after 1am, i'm in the left lane going about 80 miles an hour..... and what i see in front of me is a fucking DEER. gave me new meaning to the saying "a deer in head lights". we made eye contact. i swear i shared a moment with that deer. but then he started coming TOWARD my car. i swerved 3 lanes of traffic screaming at the top of my lungs. jackie ducked and covered. luckily, no one was harmed.
then we came back to campus and piked up a very drunk jess, jess, sue, & jenna. hysterical. what a way to end the night.
11/18 brandnew at umd
in true brandnewfest fasion, jackie and i slept late and bummed around all day saturday. drove to the university of maryland at college park, and once again almost died. in the middle of 95 in maryland this time, and it was a huge cement block instead of a deer. again huge swerving & screaming. thank god no one was beind me. i think the deer was mad at me since i didn't allow him to commit suicide the night before, he was trying to get revenge on us hahaha we got there and it was cold so we hung out in the student union or a while. the set up of the show was lame, who puts seats in the floor section? we were pissed, but the second they came on stage nothing mattered anymore. julia got there right in time. they played the same setlist but the performance was completely different. still amazing. they introduced each song with star wars titles. jesse goofed around so much. he sang danca shane at the end haha again i was completely captivated. brandnew circa 2002 is back and it made me so happy. it wasn't the same without the rest of team brand enw though, haha
we hung out and ate nachos upstairs during dashboard and made fun of all the horribly dressed girls. apparently EVERYONE wears leggings in maryland, but they don't know how to haha left really early, we were gonna wait in the car until the show was over but jesse came ouside early so we made our way to the huge group that had congregated in front of him by the buses.
as we were walking toward the big group, jesse noticed us right away. he stoped his conversation to say hi to us and wave with the biggest smile. not a single other person who came by got a hello. he really remembers us, it's amazing. ::minor freak out:: we hung out on the side while the sworms of people got autographs, and watched garrett attempt to pack his suitcase, lol the kid needed some help. the crowd kept coming and it wasn't stoping, poor jesse. he stoped again to make sure we weren't leaving yet, and went back to his autographs. a huge swarm of people came running down the hill and he got all giddy and went "its like normandy, the germans are coming!" he's too cute. we heard the rory/truck story and info on the march tour. he was trying to leave for so long, but you could see it in his face he felt terrible walking away from so many people who wanted to meet him
these annoying bitchy girls came over and were shoving jackie and i. um, hello, we're outside in a field, you can back up. they were driving us crazy. finally, jesse was getting pulled away and apologized to the group that he had to leave. the annoying girls ATTACKED him, jackie and i just stood behind them as he said to them he was sorry, he had to go and litterally pushed them out of his way to come through and give jackie and i hugs and talk to us before getting on the bus. can you say karma? ::huge freakout:: yep, jesse lacey pushed through a group of girls to make sure to to talk to us before he had to leave. it was like he parted the seas, haha he literally put his hands between two of them and pushed his arms through for hugs from us. we get special treatment, haha it was adorable, not only did he make sure to talk to us, but even after the thousands of people he meets a day, he remembered that we had told him the night before that we were going to the instore. he said goodbye to us by apologizing and saying see you tuesday. ilovethatman!!
luckily, this time there was no near death expereience in the car ride home. just on the way there lol
11/21/06: vintage vinyl instore performance & signing
the day "the devil and god are raging inside me" officially dropped. the day i finally would beable to hear the cd i waited well over 3 years for.
TEAM BRANDNEW was in full force. it was great to share it with people who really understood what it meant. i absolutely adore the people i shared that night with.
lauren even wore the rain outfit in preperation for the storm, LOLOLOL
the set was amazing. question time with jesse! jesse gave the cutest speech that seriously i thought he was going to cry during. basically just saying how much they all apprecatie everyone sticking with them and now that the cd was finally released they didnt know if it meant a burden was being taken off their shoulders or being added. 3 headlineing tours this spring to support the new album. one with kevine devine! jesse said he hadn't slept in 3 days, and you could see it on their faces they were beat. but they still managed to blow me away.

we had a jimmy eat world jam out session while we waited for the signing, couldn't have been more perfect. when i got up to the table i didn't even know what to say. brian & derrick joked around with me that it was their fault my preorder hadn't come on time. jesse tricked me and told me he didnt remember who i was, and mike said even he could tell jesse was kidding. i didnt get it and got all flustered and jesse was like oh honey i'm just kidding! i told him that this cd had perfect timing and that the week before was exactly 3 years, and he opened up and was talking to me about how his grandfather also passed away in november and how hard it is to leave his mom for stuff like this. he was really sweet and he kept talking about it with me even after he pushed my cd down the table.
kinja asked all them about their favorite breakfast meat, LOL
we all went to the diner afterward and i just kinda sat their dead. unable to believe the events that had taken place or the fact that i finally had the cd in my pocession.
i came home and put the cd on in my walkman so i could listen with headphones for the first time. i feel asleep hugging the cd. i went through 3 sets of batteries when i woke up.
i can't explain how much i love this cd, but i know there are people that get it without me having to. i'm sorry if you don't, just be happy for me that i have it :)

I convinced the brandnew council to come to bing with me, hahah i'm supper excited for that & the msg show.
sandi offering me a free ticket to bring her friend? getting to visit ali! jess's possible hotel or the 3 offers i've had from people who go there if i want to crash. julia possibly getting on the list? they're all signs that i need to go. i can't wait<333
last night jess k & i went to dinner and mr. and mrs. clause came in and sat a few tables over. true story. oh & SD is in atlanta and brandon called me from lucky street! he said he got a killer picture for me :) tomorrow snowden is playing in philly but its a 21+ show. jordan (lead singer) said i can be a roadie/merch person and they'll sneak me in the back tomorrow so i can come. i have to talk to tim tomorrow about it haha. tomorrow night should be fun i hope it happens.
