This past week could have been one of the hardest to get through, and I'm gonna go ahead and say it's been one of the best weeks of the semester. I love my friends, i love music, i love the feelings everything has been giving me. I have some really amazing people in my life, and I really appreciate all that they do for me, indirectly and directly. All you really need are good people in your life. That... and this amazing band called Brand New. They're pretty much the greatest band in the entire universe and i'm really sorry if you don't "get it." But that might have to be saved for the next entry :)
Last friday jess k, jess a, and I decided we were gonna make tshirts and surprise Brandon at his last show before leaving for zippo. They played at Philly U, which we figured couldn't be too far. We made shirts that say "Rockstar Radiation: Overwhelming us since 2005." Cuz lets face it, he's a rockstar. The back say "Langer" with a big number 1. We almost had a panic attack when we found out the show was guest list only if you aren't a student, real helpful when you're trying to surprise the band. Luckily we worked it out. Philly University is whackkk. We got lost and almost died like 4 times, we eventually got there as they were setting up. He noticed in the middle of a song, and the face he made was fucking priceless. "yea you guys over here are awesome, everyone get up and join them... AND WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE!" they performed really well, and i love dancing with the jess's, especially during 4 minutes. thats my new favorite. Ryan made my night when he came up to me afterward and thanked me for pointing lol We hung around for a while after, I finally got to meet Matt, who knows everyone and should give me a job. Every 2 seconds someone was borrowing a sharpee from me, its crazy seeing that boy sign so many autographs. The cutest point of the night was when some girl came by and was like, i like your shirt, and brandon was talking to other people and he turned around and pointed to the word rockstar and went THATS ME!! haha We helped him load up his car and came back and went to California Tortilla,the car ride back was intense. I'll just leave it at that, haha. I think i'm becoming obsessed with the Jess's, i love those girls.
Monday morning was rough, but i spent the afternoon tagging along with brandon while he got ready to leave, I just didn't really think about it most of the time since I kept busy. At night though the new brandnew cd leaked, and I completely freaked out, but I'm still holding strong. I don't want to listen to it until I have the actual physical cd in my hands. I remember everything about the day the last cds came out, how i felt, the entire experience, and with cds leaking you just lose that. The lower quality compressed songs, shitty computer speakers, not knowing if the titles and everything i have is correct, the excitement isn't really there as much. I miss that feeling of finally going out and buying a cd you've been waiting for a really long time for, looking through the booklet reading every word, freaking out, and truley falling in love with an album. I want that again. It's painful, but I'm waiting. I just hope it lives up to my expectations!
Then tuesday was the big day!! at 6am i went over to Brandon's apartment to pick him up and bring him and all his equipment to where the bus was gonna pick the band up. They were supposed to be picked up at 7.. but the bus came really late. Hung around for a while... left to get food... came back.... bus didn't come till around 10 or 11? Needless to say i missed my first class... but seeing how excited they all got when it finally came was worth the wait. Its amazing, they get a full size HUGE tour bus, a guy from fuse, the driver, and their tour manager came out to greet everyone. I helped load up, got to see the inside real quick, and then headed back to campus. After class & my internship i came back, picked up daniella & the jesses and headed into philly. Anytime I'm with those three girls i have so much fun. We got there and could hear brandon sound checking. We danced infront of the TLA while the security guards were trying to move us to the line lol It was so crazy seeing him up on that stage, knowing that not too long ago I was on this floor with him seeing some of our idols, hearing him say that one day he hopes he's up there. I wont lie, I got the chills. He came onto the stage with such a presence, he belongs up there. I really saw a miniture tom delonge, lol. He seriously looked better up on that stage than he ever had. He seemed so happy, he walked on with such a grin, they all walked on so excited. They sounded so great. It wasn't their best performance musically, but show wise it certainly was. They really were amazing, and I'm not just saying that because he's my friend, I'm saying that as a fan. Something about their music live, its hundreds of times better than their recordings. Granted, they still don't have any REAL recordings since they didnt finish mixing the cd before the tour, but theres just something about it live. We all danced like crazy and screamed our hearts out, I felt like a soccer mom, I was just so proud and happy for him/them. Matt LOVES us. He's our new best friend. I told him he needs to give me a job, and he said to remind him in january. He knows everyone, he's been offered a position as an A&R rep for Island and turned it down. He parties with Hanson hahaha He spent most of tuesday night with us, haha. After the show we went back to the zippo & sd merch table to talk to the rockstar. We all hung out for the rest of the time, hed pe and papa roach scared me. After the show we said bye to brandon like 3 times, haha. Its really only gonna be about a month, but who knows what could happen, and its really more the idea of ending this semester without him around at all. I'm so overwhelmingly excited for him though, this is an amazing experience and how many people can really say they got to do it at the age of 20? We all had our hugs and wished him luck, and left the tla to get some pizza when he had to go take some promo pictures or something backstage. We got pizza across the street where we made best friends with Kurk McGirk. Then I called Joe Baldacci and we walked down and visited him!! I misssed Joe, that made me really happy. His new apartment is awesome, and it was nice to sit and catch up with him a little while to see what he's been up to this semester. I'm really glad he's involved in a new project that seems really promising, but that doesnt surprise me at all. That kids got musical talent oozing out of him everywhere. We hung out for like an hour or so, and walked back to where I was parked near the TLA. It was after 1am, and we saw people still loading up by the tla, so we figured we'd call brandon and see if they were still around. He said they were at the bus and were leaving at 2, so we asked him how to get there so we could hang out for a little bit. Um, what he didnt tell us was that it was like, 5 miles away. We started walking.... make a LONG story short he had laura & mike eventualy come pick us up haha. We hung out for a little bit inside the bus eventually... got a little tour of the leather couches, 2 big screen tvs, all the beer haha. its amazing. Eventally we had a cab take us back to the car, where our driver even bff'ed us as we sang to him. He was awesome, haha We got back to school at like 3am. I'm gonna go ahead and say it was one of the best nights of the semester.

And then friday and saturday I saw Brand New, and both shows were unbelievable. Who would have thought it would be possible for them to get better? They give me the chills and make me happier than anything else in the world. They make my heart smile, they make my face hurt from smiling so much, jesse's hugs and adorable hangs make my life complete. And sharing it with amazing friends tops it off. But those two days are getting any entry to themselves. I can't wait until tuesday<33
Tomorrow we're having thanksgiving at our apartment... tuesday is brandnew instore & then home for break!! :) :) :) :) :)
