Bittersweet semi-whitecollar beginnings

I have an office! I don't know if I am teaching or not yet...probably am...but I have an office which I share with one other person. It's a bit of a mess, but I'm just so happy to have an office, the mess is offset by the wonderfulness of joining the ranks of individuals with offices.

Not real sure if having 18 graduate hours and teaching undergraduates actually qualifies as "white collar", but it's as close as I can get at this point. Ah yes, my first meeting is today at 3:00 PM where I will probably find out what I am teaching. We have many courses still unassigned to TA's. Among them: college algebra, trigonometry, elementary statistics, statistical inference, and business calculus. I'm really holding out a lot of hope for either business cal or statistical inference. I would get some better quality students, and they are courses I enjoy teaching.

Now for the bitter: I have some kind of sinus infection. So, yes, my first day of work (if you consider blogging from your office to be "work") I am plagued by some kind of either bacterial or viral infection. Nice. Fortunately, State's health clinic will take good care of me, and that is where I am headed in about 10 minutes.

If I can just get some Day Quill and muster it through the rest of the day, I will be able to cement my place in the 'wanna-be' white collar world :)
