Barranquilla, Columbia

Barranquilla, Columbia is home to Shakira and Edgar Renteria (pro baseball player) and might be my destination this summer. Synergy Global, the company my father works for, has a call center on the coastal city of Barranquilla, Columbia (away from the FARC insurgency and all that mess). Unlike Bangalore, India, Barranquilla's agents are not very technically proficient (and not very proficient in the ways of the English language either).

I might have a chance to work there for the summer running cables, testing communication lines, helping representatives with their English, and pretty much just serving as an English-speaking pair of hands who will follow orders given by the guys in charge at Synergy Global.

It looks like Issac Hayes split from South Park. A new episode airs Wednesday which features the return of Chef. Details are a little fuzzy at this point, but it looks like they've found a synthetic voice for Chef.

The CoS really grates my nerves. They're quick to criticize psychiatry and "pseudo-sciences," while they maintain that brainwashed alien souls are floating around and causing emotional problems for members of the human race. The worst part: people pay thousands of dollars to learn this.

At least I didn't have to pay anything for a copy of the Book of Mormon, geesh.
