So monday I was sick and my shoulder was killing me so I didn't go to school...
Tuesday I had to get an arthogram done onmy shoulder..
I went to the docs and they had me put this gown on and get undressed waist up and then go take some prelimenary X-rays. After that, they moved me into the room where they would do the actual tests. I had to wait 15 minutes for some short fat doctor to come do the test... It consisted of him cleaning my shoulder with iodine, then inserting a needle in the front of my shoulder, all the way into my joint capsule (the thingy that keeps ur shoulder together at the joint). Once inserted, he injected lidocain which is a local anesthetic, to ease the pain, even though it didn't hurt as bad as the EMG (needle thingy). After that, he put iodine inside my shoulder, then he injected air to spread out the iodine in my shoulder. While he was doing this, he was taking pictures of it, so I could watch what he was doing step by step. After tha, he took the needle out, which hurt worse than going in, and had me move my arm around... Now he told me this would happen, but I wasn't expecting it right away. My shoulder was making sounds like rice krispys do... snap crackle and pop... it sounded soooooo freakin funny, I couldn't stop laughing.. It's still doing it some, but it sounds more like a water bag now than it does rice krispys, but its still freakin stellar. I think the doc thought I was weird cuz I couldn't stop laughing... But thats jus me. After that, they took a punch of pictures of my shoulder with a big machine, so they can see all the ligaments, muscles and tendants, and where they're all torn at. After that, they took me into the tunnel O_O_O... I had to get a CT scan on my shoulder. I had to lay on this bed thingy, then I slid into a tunnel and I heard a voice that kept telling me to stop breathing, or "you may breath". It took like, 10 mins... I almost fell asleep. If it wasn't for the constant breath holding, I think I would have. The bed was mighty comfortable if I do say so myself. Anyways, after that, I went and got dressed, and they didn't tell me a goddamn thing... so I gotta wait for my shoulder doctor to call here and schedule an appointment so I can go in and see if I need surgery or not, and see how bad all the damage is. Hopefully I won't need surgery... cuz if I do, i'll be out of school for a nice chunk of a month, and have to possibly wear a shoulder cast, which is freakin huge... I would have to take sponge baths.......... Yea.... but hopefully, if I do need surgery, they'll do a lathroscopy (sp?) which is only three small incisions in my shoulder, and then they can go in and fix everything if it isn't damaged too badly... But if it is damaged alot, they'll have to cut my whole shoulder open, which can take up to 6 months to a year to heal completely... Which means the rest of my senior year i'm going to be a lefty... Why did all of this have to happen now? I guess I had to have a bad ending to a bad year... hopefully December will be better, cuz the way things are looking, November isn't gonna be much better than October. Oh well. At least my shoulder will be fixed eventually. I mean... thats always a good thing.. Meow...
Wednesday I stayed home cuz I had to ice my shoulder all day.... And today I returned. Word
