the rediscovery of ancient livejournal: adventures in oversharing (and immaturity)

i realized that i miss writing in here! my new blog is going good and all, but this is like my college blog. i remember when i started it as a first year in lynd, and i also remember writing many stupid, stupid entries that i have now locked. but some of my entries aren't so stupid, and since i am bored and really annoyed with sarah lawrence right now and in NO mood to do homework, i have procured a sort of "best of" for this blog. it's more of an autobiographical experiment, really.

2:59 pm - change clothes and go...

i skipped both of my classes today. i feel guilty, but also not so much because i have so much work and i am tired of trains, trains all the time, eating up the hours. but i am almost done. i can't wait for this year to be over.

the first three days of being 21 have been fantastic. tomorrow is my party at mars bar, and i hope that it will the the golden cap on this banging week.

for my birthday, i took the train back to new york and dustin picked me up at penn station. at home, we drank champagne and took tequila shots and headed out the door. we had dinner reservations at alias in the east village. we had a drunken subway ride, and it was fun. we took the c, i think. i rather like the c, even if it is kind of shitty. oh wait, we took the q. i think. jesus i need to stop drinking. anyway, we exited at delancy and walked to alias and on the way there i secretly grabbed dustin's ass. when we got to alias, we were seated by the window. i ordered a ginger martini, the first drink that i ever purchased legally. as predicted, i did not get carded. dinner was very good, and afterwards we met cher at 'inoteca, which is this wine bar. cher and i both got prosecco. when we were finished, the three of us went outside for cigarettes. we finised our smokes and ended up meeting brandon on bleecker street. we walked and found this insanely weird (but not in a good way) fake country western bar. everybody ordered beers. i got sierra nevada. we chatted and ate peanuts for a while, but then brandon and cher rolled out and dustin and i did so as well shortly after. we took a cab home. once at home, i puked and then went to sleep. what a freaking lightweight. but that has changed now, since i'm developing quite a tolerance since my birthday began.

i am in no mood for homework, homework of any kind...

last night i went with dustin, jennie, petra and kristen to goodbye blue monday, which is this bar in bushwick that has live bands every night. the band that we saw was called spanking charlene, and they were totally bad. we had looked up their myspace before and listened to this song called "pussy is pussy." it was pretty much the worst song ever written. they played it just as dustin and i were about to leave. we grabbed a lost-looking NYC taxi and headed back to prospect heights and called it a night. also, we stole a victorian erotic novel from the bar. it's called a man and his maid.

11:20 pm - writing a paper

two tabs concerta (5:00 p.m yesterday, and another at 11:00 a.m today)
several bowls to help me sleep afterward
one very strong vodka tonic for the same purpose
(seriously people, concerta is fucking crazy)
(but really, seriously. i finally nodded off around... six?)
(and i ground my teeth all night. but anyway.)
more weed
and lest we forget,
coffee. but only one cup of coffee.

so, i have tortured my body for this paper, and i only hope that fred will like it.

god, when did it become such a catastrophe to write a paper. i guess i'm just really tired of it all.

but i did enjoy writing that paper.

10:31 am

hello from california. i am at emily's house in sacramento. i rolled up yesterday after spending a week in san fran. so far, this trip has been amazingly fun. dustin picked me up at the airport, and we spent the next few days hanging out in the bay area. i really liked san francisco a lot. good weather, tall hills, and the bay, my god! it was so vast! and the plants and trees were all very pretty. charley's house was really nice too, it had a good view of the water. on tuesday we drove up to petrolia and stayed with all these hippies and ate good food and smoked awesome trees and went for a swim in the river for the fourth of july. copious amounts of beer and tequila flowed. and there was this really big cook-out that we went to for the evening of the fourth, and let me tell you, that was some of the best food i have ever consumed... and now that i think about it, it was probably the MOST food i have ever consumed. we left the next day, and on the way home dustin and i tripped on acid in the backseat. we did it discreetly because we didn't want charley's cousin, liz, to know what was up. it was a nice journey. such beautiful scenery. the redwoods, the yellow hills, they golden gate bridge! it felt so good to be in la-la land for the entire drive. because the drive back is usually not so fun, you know. but this time was a notable exception. at one point liz asked dustin if he could do any more driving. charley, who knew what was up, glanced back at dustin knowingly. "i don't know, liz," he said, "dustin is tired and crazy." it was really funny because he did look a bit crazy and also because the very thought of him driving at that point was ridiculous. anyway, after the epic journey, dustin and i were deposited back at charley's house (charley and liz had a family dinner), where we ordered pizza and tried to avoid bruce lanyon and smoked the hippie weed that we had copped in petrolia. it was like we were in fun land. i think that was my favorite day.

my first night in sacramento was fun! when i was about to leave, charley remarked that i was about to "see the shitty part of california." but i like it! it's nice and hot and desert-y. it's pretty flat, and there are all these bungalow houses that have nice stoops for sittin'. emily's mom cooked us a bangin' dinner, and after that emily and i went out to meet some of her friends. we smoked trees and listened to snoop dogg and this one dude nick even set off a home-made bomb in the middle of the street. it was a small bomb that only made a slight popping noise, but it was still funny. after that we drove to get milkshakes and fries... and when i say "we" i mean "i" because emily didn't order anything. but it was okay. damn those fries were good. and that milkshake. maybe today i will get more.

well, i should be back in new york on monday. i am very pleased with this vacation. i feel that i have seen a lot! i'm actually kind of excited to come home, now that i think about it. i miss my bed and my bathroom and cher and brandon and cazzies and my paycheck that is waiting for me in my mail box.

aight peace.

AND THAT CONCLUDES THIS INSTALLMENT OF ADVENTURES IN OVERSHARING.
