While walking to Sanderford yesterday, I realized just how useful analogies are. They're kind of like the ultimate tool for those of us who, on occasion, forget how to speak. Plus, anytime you can compare an armadillo to a banana that's +1 in the fun department.
I haven't updated in quite a while. Things are good. Tomorrow, I'll start back to school and try not to screw up British Literature again. I got a frickin' tall black lamp to light my apartment. I think I broke it because it leans to the left. I haven't bought a bulb for it yet either, so the full mind-blowing potential of having a living room light has not yet been realized. I often sit lonely and alone, wishing that I could see that faint bit of text along the edge of the new Cosmopolitan article about spring fashions.
That was the most untrue thing I have ever typed.
What kind of person is a journalist? When I think of journalism one word normally springs to mind: bias. I mean, I understand that a certain amount of it is healthy in this profession, but what balances it out? From what I understand, there is no such thing as "unbiased editorial". Perhaps its because journaling is(or has become) a tool presenting facts laced with a bit of personal insight. That sounds much nicer than "Opinion Editorial", doesn't it?
It's entirely possible that I could be getting into a field that does not fit my character. If so, do I change to become successful? We'll see...it's mostly out of my hands anyway. ;)
