So I just so happened to pop onto this site and saw that I hadn't written in here in over a year. So much has changed since last year. And things will continue to change.. my mom always says that the only thing that doesn't change in life is change. I moved to Tuskegee, Alabama two weeks ago to pursue a dream that I have had since I was 8 years old, which is to become a veterinarian. Next week I start vet school at Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine. ahhhhh!! I can't believe that its almost here. I have been waiting for this for awhile now and those of you who know me really well know how much I have gone through and the work I have put in to get to this point. Now the fun really begins :) I do miss Michigan and my friends, family, and boyfriend back home. At first, I wasn't sure if I really liked it here. I definitely experienced a bit of culture shock when I came down here. I wanted to cry when I first got here and my mom and I were in this ghetto convienience store called "Maxway" LOL. The South is... different LOL. The pace of life is much slower down here. The town is kind of rough and sometimes I have to call and e-mail the financial aid office 17403107301 times before I get an answer. There is also not much here besides the basic fast food restaurants like Taco Bell, McDonalds, and KFC, a couple of gas stations, 1 buffet restaurant and Chinese restaurant, CVS, a couple of grocery stores that sell expired and dusty food lol and yea thats about it. We have to drive out to Auburn, which is the next largest town about 30 minutes away if we want to go out or go to a decent grocery store. However, I think that this is part of God's plan for me and that there is a reason that I am down here for school for the next 4 years. And maybe a slower pace of life isn't so bad - theres no need to rush all the time but things do get done more quickly if you rush haha. I do like my apartment though. I have a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment with a decent sized living room and kitchen all to myself. Well I have a temporary roommate who is a classmate trying to get her housing situation all straightened out so she's here for a few days. I'm actually kinda glad that she's been here this week since she went to undergrad here and knows the ropes around these parts haha. Its been good to know some people that are already down here that I was in the Vetward Bound summer program with so I haven't been completely alone. Well I have a leadership conference to go to soon but I miss you all back home and I hope to catch up with you guys (or should I say "ya'll" haha) when I'm back in Michigan for Christmas break. I'm hoping to come back for Thanksgiving break too depending on how classes go. I'll try to update when I can but who knows when I'll actually have this thing called "free time" again haha.
