100 words: august 1.

Aug 16, 2006 00:08

Out of inspiration for the month, and promos are coming up. As such, I'm giving up on August's batch of 100 Words, though I'll probably write a few random entries throughout the month. In the meantime, here's an entry from the start of the month:
As a child, I often played with my two older cousins and my younger sister. When I was six, one of my uncles bought us four coloured baby chicks. We named them in Mandarin - my cousins got Little Green and Little Yellow, my sister got Little Red, and I got Little Blue. As we grew older, so did those four chicks. Eventually, they grew too big to for us to love or care for, and my mother brought them to the primary school where she taught. One by one, they were slaughtered and eaten for the Chinese New Year celebrations.
