As usual Christian festivals' time vary between the east and the west, Today is the Saturday of light.... Yesterday was the Great Friday or the Friday of pains so Tomorrow is Easter in Egypt and other countries using old Calendar
Celebration also varies, the main church parayere here starts at 11 o'clock at night of the saturday of light (just like today) while Easter day itself remains free from religious prayers as it is already celebrated the previous night.
Tomorrow, Copts will reach the end of their long fasting that started this year in March and remained for 2 months, also during the week after Easter there is no fasting in Wednesday nor in Saturday as usual.
Easter is considered the most important festival for Orthodox even more important than Christmas because at this day Jesus completed his message and usually in church's prayers you can hear the famous say (Jesus uprised from death, killed death and gave life to those in graves)
So Merry Easter to all Orthodox and especially to Copts, may it always remain a memory of peace .
