Sharm elshiek hosts bush while cairo is cursing him, the president's second visit to Egypt as the last station in his middle east visit comes in a very bad period of Egyptian american relationshp. there is rarely any subject that have simillar points of views between both leaders.
unlike the happy gulf by the first visit of america's president, Egypt seems to be the least hospital place to Bush on all levels, there aren't any signs of hospitality this time, no singing or dancing or parties like in the gu;f besides mubarak himself doesn't seem to feel any joy by bush's visit after the diminution of USA mlitary aid to Egypt, a decision that is believed to be taken by the Israel lobby in the congress.
Mubarak not only disagree with bush about US aid but also about thousands of other cases like Iraq, the palestinian- Israeli conflict, syria and relationship with Iran.
Few months ago Egypt shocked america by announcing that negotiations with Iran has started in order to reopen Egypt's and Iran's embassys in both countries and to have their diplomatic relationship re established, although the decision Egypt made was shocking, yet it was justified just after America started direct negotiations with Iran about Iraq's future, Egyptian politicians were saying:" Americans are talking with Iran, then why not us!!"
Bush will try to convince Mubarak not to start normal relationship with Iran also to help in controlling borders, the problem that ade large controversy with Israel just few days ago.
It is so easily predicted that Mubarak won't accept any of Bush's suggestions or even his requests and argument will be the only thing both presidents will talk about, Mubarak who hasn't visited America for 3 years or more, started preparing media to the difference in points of views with bush before his arrival saying that he will talk with the American president but Egypt's decision is totally independent and we don't accept any pressure.
Mubarak already lost lots of America's millitary aid so he doesn't fear losing any furthuer aid especially after he found the alternative in his new strong ally with Sracozi of france.
among all case democracy issue is expected to find the largest gap between both leaders because of America's support to migrant Coptic organisations also the strong criticism USA newspapers had on mubarak's attitude to democracy.
Ironically, the Egyptian oppsitions are more furious by bush's visit to the degree that some of them asked Mubarak to refuse meeting with bush also they organised a small demostration nfront of the People's assembly asking for kicking bush out of Egypt.
Bush's visit to Egypt is really in a very bad timing on all levels especially the public one, public opnion in Egypt is very anti Bush and unfortuantely anti american, and if he think that his visit will make him any publicity then he is dreaming.
the visit is just like a play to reflect a minimal relationship between both countries because none of them can let go the other at least for the time being, and it is a tragic view of a previous stronger relationship between both countries that turned to be a mere past!!
