According to both VH1 and Entertainment Weekly, it's apparently now okay to admit that you're a Kelly Clarkson fan. With that in mind, it's now apparently the right time for me to admit that someday I'd like to marry Kelly Clarkson. I've wanted to marry her before it was socially acceptable to want to marry her. Take a look at this ( Read more... )

Yes, I did like it. It was only my second time seeing it, and I caught a lot more this time than I did the first (5th or 6th grade, I'm not sure). Lots of people dismiss it off the bat because it's a sappy love story, but I think it's a really intriguing movie. Part of that may come from the fact that I have some strange fascination with the Titanic and its completely uninevitable disaster. It's just so frustrating sitting there and counting all the things that could have been avoided... so frustrating that I love it.

This is really sad, but when I was younger I was obsessed with the Titanic disaster. It might be where my love of the movie stems from! I read all of these books detailing the experiences of passengers, all about how the ship was built, etc. It is actually really fascinating, especially learning about this creepy book that was written in like 1896 about a ship called the Titan that sunk...it was found it paralled the Titanic disaster in so many ways.

Haha I remember when the movie first came out (I was in 4th grade maybe?) and I begged my parents to watch it. I remember my dad panicking and then fast-forwarding through the nudity parts, going "you can't watch this!!" And since then I've watched it like 20 times =)

wow alyssa, we are so alike. i used be so into the Titanic disaster, so I bought these two books abt the ship and the disaster (which I still have). But yea, the first I saw it, I liked the movie, but I did not catch the nuances in it. The second time I saw it (last year) I thought the acting was not great, but def got some of the good parts in it.

WOO!! can i join this little club? I was obsessed with the titanic too. I just thought it was so damned cool! Then the movie came out...

and i hate to say it, but it dashed all hopes. I had wanted it to be some sort of special documentary on the titanic, or maybe at least more realistic. But then i didn't like it. Ah well.

Big ship go down the hole!

Judging by this recent collection of comments, I think that most kids find the Titanic intriguing because, for many of us in our sheltered American lives, it's the first time we encounter such a disaster. I'm guessing that kids who were in the 3rd or 4th grade during September 11th may regard that event as we do the Titanic.

Just a thought,
Ramy

Ive never watched the whole movie, just bits and pieces. I've been a Kelly Clarkson fan long before it was "cool" so I better be invited to your wedding =p
