No Tumor!!!, New Recliner, ConDor, WAY behind in LJ

Mar 30, 2005 13:58

My big happy news is that I just had my first followup MRI on my spinal neck area, and, indeed, the results page says THERE IS NO SIGN OF ANY TUMOR! Of course this was expected -- but still so lovely to have confirmed. Though I moved my scheduled followup MRI up by 2 weeks because I'd been feeling a bit of left shoulder pain recently (almost surely from lying "wrong" in bed while reading) and I wanted to be 100% sure that it wasn't due to some remaining bit of tumor growing in a nasty place. So, it's confirmed -- I have a nice tumor-free baseline MRI to use for future comparisons. Yay!

For quite some time I've wanted a recliner chair for reading so I wouldn't lie wrong on my left shoulder when I read in bed (I just can't seem to help doing that when I read in bed). I've searched a fair amount for one. Finally I found a nice blue recliner on eBay that I could pick up in San Diego, and since I was in SD last weekend for ConDor with dieppe, he helped me pick up the recliner, and it's home now. It's blue (not tan or beige or something that really wouldn't fit my décor), and has nice cupholders hidden in the armrests! I haven't tried it out yet for reading, but it's lovely for sitting and relaxing. And mira_kitty likes it too! I've caught her sitting on the seat. I hope she doesn't like it as a scratching post though... so far so good.

ConDor was mellow and fun. Getting to meet John Varley was way cool! Armin Shimmerman (Quark on Trek, etc.) was a lot more articulate than I expected. Saw lenniersd, caprine, duckflambe, nolly and other LJ folk. Met a nice guy named Vivek from UCSD. Maybe I'll write more later.

I'm about two weeks (TWO WEEKS!!!) behind in LJ! I've continued to be very low energy and reclusive, and I'm still not completely sure why. I'm gonna try to catch up on LJ, skimming and reading only closest friend stuff. Hopefully I'll be caught back up Real Soon Now, and will be participating again as usual. Sorry to any who've missed me!
