(no subject)
This was a better Fourth of July than the one last year (I spent it by myself). I slept in until 11 a.m. which wasn't intentional. I must have lost power in the middle of the night because my alarm clock and all my other digital clocks were blinking when I woke up and I didn't hear my cell phone alarm go off. I met Jessica Y. for Bible study at noon and she bought me lunch at Subway. Afterwards her parents invited me to go with them and Jessica to her great aunt's house on Long Lake. So I hung out with older people but they were nice and I had a really good meal. Of course, like any other time I have good cooking at someone's house, I ate too much.
After Jessica's parents dropped us back off at her house, we drove to my house and walked to Bayview Park to get a spot for the fireworks and to feel less guilty about all the food we consumed. Jessica's sister Tracy called and we went and sat by her and her kids. We weren't in the best area to see them but we figured the fireworks would be high enough. Well we waited, waited and waited but they took forever to start. They were also extremely low and weren't very good. We ended up leaving at around 11 p.m. because they started so late, we were all tired and Tracy's kids needed to get to bed. I'm disappointed the fireworks sucked this year, considering about $20,000 was spent on them this year. The fireworks were much better last year.
It was nice to have a day off in the middle of the week. I wish I had the rest of the weekend off, but there's only two more working days until the weekend and at least I am getting paid for not being at work today.
Well I'm pooped. I'm going to go read a book and go to sleep. Laters!
