Right now I'm at Colgate University, or as Dave Libardoni says, "Col-GATE!" But first I need to go back to when I last updated and let you know what's happened in my fun-filled life.
Last Thursday was the start of vacation. Finally some time off before 20 useless school days. Anyways, last Friday was the prom. Yes, that word is sensitive in my vocabulary, because everyone always mentioned it in front of me as if me not going was the end of the world. Well the evening started off with everyone meeting at Krista's house. We all took some pictures and I met some parents. There's a picture of me surrounded by several beautiful ladies. I'll let you see it in school sometime. Then the limo arrived. The ride was SO MUCH FUN!!! Then I arrive at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet.
The receiving line wasn't what I thought it was going to be. I thought people were going to be lined up outside but instead as I walked in, I felt like I was in a hotel lobby. There I shook hands with several faculty members who were happy to see me. Then I walk into the ballroom. It was HUGE. There was a balcony and I was pissed that I couldn't go there. So dinner was awesome, consisting of ham, roast beef, and fried chicken. It was tasty. Then it was time to start dancing. Some fun stuff there. Oh by the way, it was also Bill Cupelo's birthday, so he and Kevin Douglass go up on the stage and start rapping. It was funny. Later on the prom king and queen was announced. I forget the queen, but Matt Kirby was crowned king. Kinda sweet. Then I left, got back into the limo, arrived back at Krista's house, and changed. Unfortunately Brendan Feeney couldn't have an after-party at his house, so Kim and Krista decided to drive me home, and I got back shortly after midnight. Yeah the night somewhat ended abruptly, but the prom was a great experience. These are the moments worth living. I don't know why I missed my junior prom, but this year I experienced what a prom is like, and it was SO MUCH FUN. I have many pictures, so when we're back in school if you were in any of them, I'll give you a copy.
So Sunday I made my way to Syracuse. I had this awesome host who was part Puerto-Rican. He brought me to this party that consisted of so many African Americans that love hip-hop and rap. I feel like I have some black culture in my blood now, but I felt sorry for my brother because if he was there, he wouldn't have felt comfortable. He HATES rap and only listens to punk music.
Monday I had a reception for accepted Syracuse students. I saw Joe Webb there, that was cool. I met many potential new classmates and ate lunch in the Carrier Dome. It was amazing. The dome didn't look like anything I've seen on TV. After that I met up with Shawn, my host, and we did some cool stuff. We ate dinner at a dining hall, then watched a multicultural show. Oh by the way, dining hall food is REEEEALLLLY TAAAAASTY. Then the show featured many blacks dancing in this way that made me think they want sexual attention.
So today I left Syracuse and made it to Colgate, or Col-GATE! I ate some tasty lunch, went to some information sessions, then met my host, who's name is Jourdan. I learn that Colgate is a party-school, where everyone drinks and smokes. As of now I feel uncomfortable but everyone here is wicked happy to meet me. I look forward to a potential party tonight that will hopefully rock my socks. Anyways, next time I update, I'll let you know about my night at Colgate. Peace out.
