Merry Christmas everyone who reads this! If you're someone that reads the Kyle Ramie show consistently, you have stumbled upon the show's Christmas special. It's a bit long, probably as long as my entry about the marching band finals. But it should be (except for the entry made on 11/7) the best entry yet on the show.
If I had to describe the past 4 days with adjectives it would be:
Scary, fun, excited, exhausted, phenomenal, so-so, crazy, fearful, accomplished, thankful.
Let's pick up where I last updated, which was last Tuesday. That afternoon I prepared for the Spanish Honor Society Christmas party, all the way in the Plainville outskirts. Why? Because Mallory Dion was hosting it, and she lives there. So I drive over there, with crazy directions going up SO MANY hills until I finally reach her driveway. Except it wasn't shoveled and it involved going up a steep hill. I tried about 589567937312341 times and failed, including one "crash" into a stone pillar. So I was just asked to park aside from the other driveway. This is where feeling "scary" kicked in. One of my wheel covers fell off, and my car now has a nice dent on the front right corner. When I got back home, my mom yelled at me but my dad took it easy. So at the party I wrapped some Christmas gifts for some needy kids and ate so much. Then came whack-the-pinata where the hostess decapitated it. Oh well, we all got candy. It was a fun night. That's why I have "fun" as one of my feelings.
So I woke up Wednesday morning and dressed up in black-and-white and a bit excited for "performing in front of the student body" day. It started out with a fun Christmas game in Mr. Michaud's class where my "team" most easily won. Questions asked included "who plays Fezziwig in a Muppet Christmas Carol" and fill-in quotes from The Night Before Christmas. I won myself a package of Starburst candy. Then came Spanish class where I had a simple vocab quiz. I gave some friends some Christmas cards because that's how giving I am. They were really happy to have them. Then English class was in place of X, so Ms. Leonard decides to show a movie because she wanted vacation as much as we did. Then Physics class, where Mr. Kelley also "needs vacation" and plays a movie on the moon landing. After that was lunch, yum, then psych class where Mr. Deady shows a movie, this time on memory. Yay, three movies in a row! So after that was assembly time. There was a brief prayer service and Mr. Michaud read one of his inspiring stories to the student body. So then the dance company puts on their performance, the chorus sings a few songs, and we're on to play Christmas tunes. I could hear people cheering for me after our brief stint. I guess they either like the band or they like me. After that was the grand finale, "O Come All Ye Faithful" with the chorus and some guest faculty members singing along.
After school I decide to bring Tom to EB Games at the Emerald Square Mall because he felt that he BADLY needed a new video game. Then my brother went to the next-door shop and purchases a New Found Glory t-shirt. So I drive Tom home and felt really exhausted. I decide to take a nap. Then at precisely 6:00 PM, my alarm goes off. At first, I realize why I set it, then it clicked. It was Christmas dance night! So I jump into the shower and after that, get dressed up nicely. I then grab my mother's digital camera in hope of catching some interesting photos. So around 6:45 I'm all set to go, hoping I don't crash into something. On the way there I had to turn down a side road because the site of the dance was in a somewhat residential area. As I turned down the side road, I had to flip my high-beams on since it felt dark and gloomy. But I made it fine. I park, gather my belongings, and as I leave my car I hear music blaring. Surprisingly, it was from the amazing automobile of Kevin Douglass! He was psyched to see me and we head into the Lakeview Pavilion to do the usual dancing routine. I walk in, and who do I encounter?
Matt Pichi.
Why the heck was he there? Then I remembered how all students were allowed to attend after it was assumed no tickets would be sold. Still he was humiliating himself as a lonely sophomore in front of approximately 98% juniors and seniors in attendance. So I meet up with some interesting friends and they're all happy that I'm there! So I take some pictures, greet others, and stuff my face with chicken tenders, french fries, mozzarella sticks, and pizza. It was as if Stop and Shop brought all its tasty food to the event. Lol. So after eating the dancing began. Everyone looked amazing. Then eventually a "dance contest" was held and one of the judges decides to eject me. Later on Joe Webb was named "snow man" and Sarah Simard "snow angel." As the night progressed there was "musical chairs." I have a picture of Matt Doherty where it looked like he won only to be ruled out by the judges. Then came a "senior circle" which was insprational. Towards the end of the dance was a karaoke contest. I thought Brittney won it but everyone voted Kevin as the undisputed winner. w/e. So then the night ended, when I wish it didn't. But the night was phenomenal. I took like 12875635987903 pictures. They were on my mother's digital camera so if you want to see them, send me an IM and I'll send them your way.
Thursday morning didn't really consist of anything. It was so-so. But then I had to go to work at 3. The supermarket was crazy, and that's how I felt. Even worse, I didn't get out until 9. Oh well, that's the Christmas rush for you. Friday morning I woke up in panic because I hadn't purchased a Christmas gift for my mother yet. Not only that, it was also Christmas Eve! I was fearful, so I go up to Barnes and Noble in Walpole and got her a copy of "Chicken Soup for the Woman's Soul." I have heard Mr. Michaud read stories from these series, so I thought I would have my mom read some inspirational accomplishments. I then felt accomplished. That night the family and I went to mass. I saw some old friends there and wished them Merry Christmas. I came home and felt excited for Christmas, and went to sleep somewhat early.
So today ... Christmas! For gifts, my brother and parents enjoyed the gifts I gave them. As for me, I received two pairs of pajama pants, a bathrobe, Pokémon Colosseum, and ...
first came the DVD Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban followed by a scaled-down model of Fluffy, the 3-headed dog from the first Harry Potter book where three heads constantly shake back and forth. I'm going to consider it my motiviational toy. If there's something next year that I MUST complete, my Fluffy toy will motivate me to complete it.
And finally ... I received tons of Red Sox stuff, from a hat that says "2004 World Series Champions" to a T-shirt portraying the same text, to BOTH DVDs and a Sports Illustrated Magazine. Oh and my dad got me tickets to the Syracuse vs. PC basketball game on January 15. That was a nice surprise. Well that was my Christmas. I feel thankful for my family members, and the gifts I received. This has been your Christmas special, I hope you REALLY enjoyed it.
