BACK TO WORK TODAY! It felt really good, actually, except for the part where I did not get much sleep last night. I went to see Dr. Balperio this morning and, after 2.5 hours puttering about the clinic (waiting for the blood draw took AN HOUR OF BORING SLEEPY HELL)I made it over to work. My PFTs were better than they were 6 weeks ago, and better than they were at Stanford a month ago, so he was happy to see the improvement. Woohoo! He also confirmed that lots of people have fungus and it is treatable and that there doesn't seem to be any link between fungus and any sort of rejection, which made me relax a bit more. And now that I'm back at work, I am back to climbing my stairs at work regularly so by the time I go see him again in 7 weeks, I should be a PFT POWERHOUSE. The more I exercise the better I feel about this whole lung thing, so hooray.
I got to work so late that I missed the class I wanted to peek in on today, but I did arrive just in time for lunch! On our way to Ackerman, we noticed that the bomb shelter was CLOSED FOR REBUILDING and that there were several FOOD TRUCKS in the court of sciences. New eateries! I am very excited to try the new lunch trucks this week. And they are SO CLOSE to the office. I NEED A MEATY SNACK! TO THE FOOD MOBILE! There is a Calbi truck and a red one with a big yellow dog on it, that perhaps sports hot dogs or something!!!
After lunch I pretty much sat at my desk and worked on my TASK. I thought I had it done around 3, but then noticed what seemed like a fairly minor bug which then turned into a HORRIBLE VEXING PROBLEM THAT WOULD NOT BE SOLVED and by the end of the day there was much cursing at and pleading with my computer. Before Debbie left she came into my cube to say she had missed my programmer's rage, as it is a source of great entertainment. I probably would have stayed until I got it fixed had I not had to pick Jenni up from the airport, so I ran off and SOMEHOW managed to not get stuck in rush hour traffic on the 405 at 5:30 and waited for Jenni to find that her luggage was lost and deal with that. But it was worth the wait b/c she bought me MCDONALDS for dinner.
I dropped her home and came home to where Stephanie is visiting and we were going to watch Any Given Sunday but it was FAR TOO INTENSE with NOISES and MOVING CAMERA ANGLES and TALKING so we decided to watch Pippi Longstocking instead, which was JUST THE RIGHT SPEED. (Do not worry, Laura, I stopped paying attention when it got to where we had stopped b/c I got distracted by the internet so I still need to watch the end with you!) There has not been any big drama so far, and everyone seems happy. I SHOULD GO TO BED IT IS GETTING LATE GOOD NIGHT BLOGGO.
