Mom and I went to Ben & Jerry's for Free Cone Day earlier. There was a line backed out the door, but it moved quickly enough and we got our ice cream hassle-free. Mmmm, Chunky Monkey.
Before that, though, the new Death Note trailer showed up on the movie's official website. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, the movie is based on a manga about a brilliant Japanese boy, Raito, who happens across a notebook which has the power to kill any person whose name is written in it. He uses it to start killing criminals around the world, which is all fine and dandy except for the part where it totally ignores established laws, so a detective known only as L is hired to find him so he can be stopped. The trailer that went up today included the first look at Ryuk, the shinigami (god of death) who used to own the Death Note that Raito found. *points at her icon* He looks exactly the same as in the manga, except so much creepier. The movie's website is here and the manga has already started coming out in the US, although I'm sure you can find scanlations for pretty much the whole series if you look hard enough. *innocent look*
Also, they're using Dani California, the new Red Hot Chili Peppers song, as the sort of theme for the movie.
You want it?
