wherein I focus on staying awake

Am working on internal-clock-fixing all-nighter. The part that really sucks, though, at least relatively, is that it won't even be twenty-four hours until one in the afternoon.

Ideally, I would be passing this stay-awake-dammit time by writing, because that's productive and good, but of course my brain hates to write when I'm sleep-deprived. And reading isn't much better. *yawns and stretches legs*

I was in fifth grade when this song came out and I saw the video on MuchMusic or whatever that music video program was called that was on channel 25. I think that was back in the day when 25 was still the WB instead of UPN and 64 was still Star 64 instead of WB 64. Also MuchMusic was where I saw the video for Mouth by Bush (from An American Werewolf in Paris, which was amusingly silly the one time I saw it on AMC last year) and fell in love with both the song and Gavin Rossdale's singing. So yeah, apparently the end of elementary school is when I really started unwittingly moving to the Dark Side.

It would be really nice if I could play MapleStory on Gonagall. Unfortunately the website says nothing about being Mac compatible and I don't want to take the horribly long time to download the installer when it probably won't do any good anyway. Probably should've asked Dad to hook me up with an account on the PC before he left...

The worst part of staying up all night is how much less there is to do in the wee hours, both online and off. Which is the point, I suppose, because it's when most everyone is supposed to be asleep, but it still feels inconsiderate. I thought we were supposed to be the self-absorbed 24-hour nation! Make up your mind, America!

At first I didn't recognize the voice or face of the lead singer of The All-American Rejects, since it had been a while since I'd heard any of their songs before "Dirty Little Secret" came out, but since then I've listened to oldish mp3s and come across the end of one of their equally oldish videos, and have concluded that I'm just being a total ditz again and no one should pay attention.

I hear a particularly energetic-sounding bird outside. Also, the sky appears cloudy through the window. Yay clouds.

Yesterday I borrowed Sin City from Uncle Bobby, who'd rented it from Blockbuster (yes, a bit early, he works there and can do so), and it felt to me a lot like really crazy noir. With, you know, nipplage and blood and stuff. So crazy, but I loved it. Also, Elijah Wood was creepy as hell as that Kevin guy. And I have no idea what the whole point of Josh Hartnett's role was, but that might just be because I can never make perfect sense of everything the first time around.

Hm, can't think of anything else. I think I'm going to be ornery and not cut this. *posts, yawns again*
