The Windy City

Sitting in my new living room chair, I look out of my tenth floor window at my new view. It is amazing to me that the city I see is the city I LIVE IN!!! So far things are put away and settled but not finished. There needs to be things put on the walls and dressers need to be purchased, but it is still looking like "home" Now that we have air and cable we can laugh at some of the things that happened when we moved in.

1) Moved in on the HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR! it was 97 but felt like 110. You were sweating just by sitting there...gross

2) The elevator that we reserved to make moving in go faster was broken. This meant we had to carry EVERYTHING from the back door, through the lobby, wait for an elevator with all of the people trying to come and go from their apartment (who did not want to be our friends that day) and then bring it up to the 10th floor.

3) Comcast did not come when they said that they were going to come. That lead to 48 hours of dealing with about 20 different comcast workers who did not know what was going on and did not tell me the same thing twice. After being told we would not get cable until Aug 12th I threw a fit and it got moved to Friday. Clearly they did not know that it was LOLLAPOLOOZA!!!!  We were told there was an appointment on Wednesday and then that there wasn't. FInally we were back on for Wednesday 8-10 and he got here at 3 30! We now have cable, our phone and internet (sort of....can't get the wireless to work BOO!)

4) Gave in to the heat and got air on Wednesday as well. We now do not have to take 20 showers a day just to cool off!

It doesn't feel like MY home yet, but it is coming. There will be pictures soon but it isn't ready just yet. Just know that it is the cutest apartment EVER :)
