I TRIED TO GO WITHOUT THE PURPLE!!! BECAUSE ONSTAGE URSULA HAS WHITE/GRAY SKIN!!! ...but it washed out the hair, so at the end I said, screw it! I'm goiving her purple skin like Disney intended! :D
I absolutely love Ursula's "Bitch, please" look. Of all the Disney villains, she is definitely one of my favorites. And the Broadway version is awesome, even if (for me) no one can sing "Poor Unfortunate Souls" like Pat Carroll.
Anyway, it's a fantastic picture, I especially love the green eyeshadow and lipstick. It adds that certain perfect touch to the whole thing. That being said, at least in my opinion, your proportions look a wee bit off in the background sketch, from where waist or what have you meet tentacles.
I agree, no one beats Pat Carroll. Broadway singers would have to age 30 years and smoke the same amount to get that wonderful low quality and tone.
The makeup on broadway for this show is amazing. They add soooooooo much more to each character, espceially Flotsam and Jetsam, they've got the same kinda green and yellow thing going on I did on Ursula here. But again, I can't take credit, it was all inspired by Ms. Scott.
Lol, proportion? Anatomy? What's that?...Lol, yea it is completely off, for both Ariel and Ursuala if I look at it now. Most of my work doodles are off in some way, which is why most go straight into the bin. XD
Hey, practicing is the best way to learn how to do it better the next time. Honestly, I would show you some of my early stuff to show you how far I've come, but I've swept those so far under the rug I think the dust bunnies ate them.
I can't imagine the indigestion if they did. Poor little dust bunnies.

Dude, Ursula. She does NOT look like a woman to mess with. At all. (Also: YOU GOT HER PURPLE RIGHT.)
Hope you got to work reasonably dry!
