Get your towels ready (mostly about icons)
Back in the days when I first started on LJ, you used to see with some fair frequency posts called "GIP," or "Gratuitous Icon Post." The whole purpose was to show off a fancy new icon, because back in the days of ten, fifteen spaces, they got rotated with some care. Don't see them much anymore, though, which forces me to put actual content on this post.
But really, it's all about the icon. :)
*Speaking of icons, there's a couple here that have come out of 'fic chats. These include blame icons, random phrases icons, a cropped bit of Venus-y looking art, and the PFlag. You will learn soon why that rose is snide. :)
*Attached to that directory is one of some seriously random BSSM icons. They were originally for V's Day, but when I got through the set I said to myself, "Ten, all you did was crop stuff. Like that's a good gift." The inclusion of a certain amount of boobage, as well as particular twosomes, is a consequence of them originally being for V. The originals came from two sources: Fritter's Sailor Moon Indulgence and The Artbook Gallery. Take, share, touch up and make me look bad--all yours, yall.
*I started on BSSM: Another Story icons by cropping from a YouTube video, then said to myself, "That's silly," and...decided to go directly from the source. Which, once I figured out that I couldn't use the internal screencap function, has actually been...not too terribly hard. Maybe I'll finish the game this time, too.
*Speaking of V, I believe I have found her theme song. True, some of it is about fighting to keep certain rights, but otherwise, it fits like a...well. Glove wouldn't be suitable, would it? That would be Smut by Tom Lehrer.
*And to justify that "writing report" tag, I started work on character profiles for that Space Opera-y thing a few entries down while waiting for a plot to show up. So far, I have invented an awesome holodeck game, a couple of quasi-religious orders (with another to come) and the beginnings of a system of government. I may have found use for a Dyson's sphere, or I may just grab an idea from Girl Genius (or Star Wars--both would be fitting) and run with it. There's still lots of ground to cover, but it's inspired me to some big chunks of words in the past two days, so I'm looking forward to figuring out the rest.
*Younger Ten used to experiment, in secret, with writing smut. Present Day Ten has done enough experimenting to know that it's a drawn out, involved process, one best written in one go, which is why you have to friggin' schedule it. And I'm still looking for a time slot for it, heh. Not to mention the editing I need to do and ooh, is that a shiny thing on YouTube? *vwoosh*
