Camping is a hotel without room service

Came back from CampCon early. I am not built for camping. Aches and pains, still coughing up smoke from the fire. The people are why I go and I got to spend quality time with all of them, even if not quantities. I got done what I planned to. Now I'm home and much more comfortable. Have to say, though, highlight of the weekend was Gerry Nordley's telescope. Lots of visible stars. I got to see Venus as an actual planet, a ball of light not the amorphous scintillating star with spikes of of light. Quite a revelation. Then Bob Brown downloaded a star finding app to his phone, hold the phone up to the night sky and the app shows the stars, their names and the constellation. Fascinating.

stargazing, campcon
