The joy of finishing

Nov 05, 2013 09:03

First, short, out of order, incomplete, and ugly draft of my reluctant WerCougar book is done. And no my heroine does not hit on younger men. Off my desk. Going to let the lizard brain simmer with it a while. This book more than a lot is a lesson in learning more about my characters and story by finishing the draft than amount of fiddling with the beginning. There are gaping holes. Changes in relationships. Foreshadowing plot twists. All that I could not foresee when I started this thing.

I like how it turned out. I'll like it better in six months when draft 3 heads out to the editor.

Now I have two days to play before I head to Orycon. And I can con party without guilt about neglecting a pending project.
