I'm learning to love my new HP Pavilion laptop. I'm indifferent to Win8. It does what I need it to do. If I were going to get fancy I might actually have problems. Biggest grumble? The OS hides the clock when I'm playing games. And no I do not want an XBox account just to play MahJong.
Had to give up on FireFox, at least for the time being. It got corrupted in the first two minutes of life and kept allowing pop ups to freeze the computer until I downloaded this that and the other software. even the demand to update FireFox was not from Mozilla, it wouldn't update, only installed a tool bar that allowed even more pop ups. With that gone, I'm cruising nicely with Google Chrome and not a single pop up.
Now we'll see if I can get Print Shop to talk to Win 8.

For now I'm going to bang out another 1000 words before joycemocha arrives for tea and critique and page proofs arrive from DAW. YOu know that when page proofs descend, all else stops in this household.
