Well, I went back to the beginning of "The Silent Dragon, Children of the Dragon Nimbus #1" by Irene Radford. I rarely do this. For me, finishing the rough draft teaches me more about the characters and plot than endless rounds of revisions on the early chapters.

But...I'd run out of plot and had no idea what was happening or why. My brainstorm session with coreolis lined up more than a few loose threads. I knew how to tie them together. And you know what? I don't have to complete all of them, because I have 2 more books in the this series to take care of civil war and marauding rogue dragons that are really six winged black snake like thingies.

So I went back to the beginning and made sense of the hero's goal and the overall story arc that will cover all 3 books. Now I've reached the end of the known universe and ...

That's right, I don't know what comes next. But I'll figure it out if I just make myself stay home and, you know, work on it. Then there's campcon this weekend. Three days of camping with laptops, or writers retreat with camping. When 11 other writers are sitting around madly typing, I feel a responsibility to keep up with them. Plus there will be no internet to distract me. I'm taking the netbook. No Mahjong on that machine.

Things are looking up.
