not much work done

A little hard to finish a book when I've got committments.

Last night I escaped the scene from H^&%$$#ll long enough to attend the SciFi Books Club at Powells Books Beaverton. BBE provided transportation since T was working. He blew off a Masonic meeting to do it and spent a bunch of money on books. Powells is dangerous to the wallet of any dedicated reader.

martianmooncrab and djonn were there supervising, sort of. We had about 15 people, most of whom had read Hounding The Moon. We talked about the book, about the writing life, my writing process, Orycon and a bunch of other stuff. We could have gone another hour but I was turning into a pumkin and we had a 1 hour+ ride home.

Thanks to the group for inviting me. I had fun and you bought books. What more could I ask?

Then today was the monthly Local Authors Lunch at the Lloyd Center Village Inn. martianmooncrab was there of course. davidlevine showed up for the first time. He's retired now and can devote himself to writer type things more. jaylake came too. And a bunch of other luddites who aren't on LJ. I'm working on them. We had our usual brag and bitch session and discussed the upcoming EPIC (e-publishing) conference being run by one of our attendees. I'll post some info on it when I get the flyers.

Ran a bunch of errands on the way home and now I'm vegging out.

lloyd center village inn, powells books beaverton, hounding the moon.
