Con report
J-ConI went off without a visible hitch. Lots of pizza, beer, and soft drinks. Good friends, good food. Much hilarity. kenscholes read an original short story "Jay Lake and the Last Iron Monkey King." Or something like that. jaylake and the irrepresible Dr. Frank Wu acted it out along the way. TheChild manipulated a sock monkey dressed in a clown suit to help...um...illustrate the story. We were laughing so hard some were litterally rolling on the floor.
Frank gave J a "trope" box. A lovely wooden box decorated in dragons and such, filled with the tropes representing J's life. Trolls in jockstraps, flowers, toy rocket ships, robots, hotel room key cards...the list was too numberous and too funny to go on. You had to be there.
Waving at all the LJ folks who showed up, again too numerous to mention all of you.
If this party gets any bigger we'll have to move to a convention hall.

It's exhausting hanging out with very bright, very aware, very energetic people. I think that best describes the guest list.
