Fiona's Best Day Eeeever.
I skipped home today. Or I would have if I wasn't in my car. But I totally danced in my car while I drove home from today.
Yesterday, Mr. Skippy-Loo Christopher called in because his car broke down and he couldn't get to work... And he apparently can't walk the short distance of less than a mile to the bus stop. Well, today he called again because despite the fact that he's a "trained apprentice mechanic" he can't fix his own car. So if that wasn't enough, he closed the store 15 minutes early on Friday. We were almost fined $5,000 for this. My boss had to get the Regional Manager on the phone to talk the mall out of the fine.
He's being fired. This time it's not a pending thing either. The General Manager got on the phone and requested the firing, so even the DM can't argue it.
That was obviously my favourite part of the day. Number two? When he calls to say A) that him being unreliable without a car just isn't fair to us/the store. B) When he tells me that we were bringing in a new employee (I was already aware of this) and that he was going to come in and train her. First of all, that is not his job. AT ALL. Second, she's being brought in to replace him. I let myself grin into the phone at that point.
I love that my boss keeps me up to date on the innergoings of our store. It's so amazing. I get all of the information first. I will, however, miss the Chris gossip/hilarity.
In other news, I am totally going to meet David Sedaris tomorrow. He's doing a stop in Victoria so I'll most definitely be going there. The reading is at seven, so I guess we'll show up around five. I'm so excited. He's easily my favourite author. I plan to get my copy of "Me Talk Pretty One Day" signed. If I can find it, that is. If not, then "Dress Your Children in Corduoroy and Denim". Maybe buy a copy of "When Engulfed in Flames." I'm so exciiiiited. <3
