Blood spattered the ice and streaked it. And pooled, because if Thor moved Loki any further there would be too much of it lost. He kneeled with his brother leaned against him, and hazed green eyes tried to focus on his blue ones. "How appropriate. That I die here..."
Thor gritted his teeth. Against the biting frost, against the panic that surged in him from Loki's words... "Don't say such things!"
"...Thor, you're shaking."
"Loki-"
"I don't even feel cold."
"...Loki..."
Thor resisted all of his urges to shake Loki as his eyes slipped closed and to yell at Heimdall to open the bridge that he knew was sealed off to them as long as they were being pursued. All he could do was hold his lover closer.
"Your arms are so warm, brother."
"I can get you home to Asgard, Loki, I can-"
"You were always the worst liar, Thor. Please," Loki blinked open his eyes, though it showed on his face how much of a struggle it was. His gaze locked with Thor's, searching. "Let the last thing I have from you be something true."
Thor opened his mouth to reply, but Loki's head slumped forward against his chest. And the harsh frost built into a snowstorm as the god of thunder lowered his head and whispered what had been showing clearly in his eyes.
