random thoughts
1. i am really lucky; fortunate to be able to sleep in pretty much whenever i want, fortunate to have a lovely home in which to lounge, and fortunate to be able to relax and enjoy it
2. i have made 2 loaves of bread and one batch of cookies so far today, there will be one more batch of cookies before the day is through (pfeffernusse cookies, spice cookies coated in powdered sugar - which i will somehow be making pink/red in honor of Valentine's Day)
3. there is something SO satisfying about cooking/baking... and it has nothing to do with eating!
4. i wish that sunglasses would have the opposite effect at night
5. there's no way that that makeup that looks white and then somehow magically adjusts itself to match your skin tone actually works - inconceivable!
6. my dad and mom are birding in MN for the weekend; dad left early this morning, having done no grocery shopping in weeks, so i really need to do some shopping tomorrow before my cousin Andrew arrives, therefore I started a shopping list like 2 hours ago and this is what i have so far - yeast, chocolate chips, [inexplicably skipped a line], sunchokes, vegetable stock
7. Chairman Mao is sitting on the sill of the picture window in the front of the house and STARING at me! she's alternating between pleading with her big pathetic eyes and sternly trying to MAKE me let her in using The Force, i think... hehe...
8. the phone interview with Mexico went well I think, i'm the first interview he did for the Aug 09 positions so he needs to do more, i'll get an official offer or rejection in a few weeks... if they offer, i'm doing it
