dark side

 hilarious

left walkersville around 8:15 after receiving differing directions from the internet, and my grandpa and my uncle, who gave their contradicting instructions simultaneously -  my grandfather very loudly with long pauses into which my uncle would mumble his interjections
what a family

arrived after a scenic drive which included two straights blocks of a wannabe-quaint downtown area completely covered with christmas lights with every structure outlined in white lights that seriously made me think i was hallucinating

the theatre was an actual theatre complete with a balcony and chandeliers
and it was PACKED!
the line went out the door to buy tickets
families, high school kids, senior citizens, bikers, hipsters, and hippies of all ages

then i saw the bar in the lobby...

when the movie started we all clapped
the clapping and cheering and singing continued throughout the show

one of my favorite parts is right at the beginning when the neighbor/witch comes to take Toto away, the music just fits so perfectly there
actually the whole beginning is great

then they restart the album
and you're still diggin' it

then it restarts again
and you're ready for the movie to end
not bored, not impatient, not fidgety
but definitely prepared for it to be over in due course

a singular experience to say the least
