For reference purpose *cough. Although If I suddenly posted I got one of these babies, don't be surprised :P
In no particular order, wait let's do this by size
1) Galaxy Note 2 - 5.5" devices, currently on Android JellyBean.
I actually like the idea of smaller size as I found out actually with my 7" tablet, it can still be too large for me to hold comfortable in one hand (necessity as I may need to hold on to a rail with my other hand during my travel to work)
2) Nexus 7C - 7" phone tablet, also on JellyBean. Looks quite affordable for a phablet. The fact it has a sim card mean I can have my own 3G connection instead of waiting for a Wifi network
3)
Ployer Momo 12 - 10" tablet
I was just browsing and came across this
review. So a possible good choice if I want to move up size wise
2) Acer Iconia W510 - 10", Windows 8
Good reviews are popping up on umpc portal and yes I admit to tech drool :P
Other than that, I have been looking up reviews for some of the China-made phone as alternative when I need to replace my N900 as my Primary ebook reader (see Note2 comment). Pros: cheaper and more variety. Cons, you really have to know your stuff so a lot of research to know which brand name is actually good or can compare to the more well-known worldwide brand
