Chapter summary: What is love? Is it when two people live together? Is it when you share the same bed? Or is it something that goes far beyond that?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“So, Hiroki. When do I get to meet this new girlfriend of yours? What's it been? Like two months already.” The man jumped beside him with a pout on his lips and it made him look ridiculous.
“It's been one month and how many times do I have to tell you that Renge isn't my girlfriend? We are two friends that just happened to decide to start living together... And don't pout, Shun. You look like a frog.” Hiroki smiled at his friend's silliness.
They were on their way home from work, their new drama was almost at its end and as busy as they were during the day they made sure to enjoy their free-time in the evening by getting one or two drinks before heading home.
“Mou~! Hiro-chan is always so mean. He won't tell me anything anymore!” Shun put an arm around his friend's shoulder. He wasn't as drunk as he appeared, he was just being a big baby and when Hiroki informed him of that fact Shun leaned against him, placing all of his weight onto the other man making it almost impossible for Hiroki to stand up, let alone walk.
“Shun, I can't walk like this.” He panted and struggled to get the other man off of him but once Shun had his heart set on something he was not about to be led astray.
“I will let you go if you solemnly swear that you will let me see this Renge-girl tonight.” Shun said in an important voice and started making strange gestures with his one hand without removing any weight from Hiroki's shoulders, making himself look like a complete fool.
“Alright, alright! Just get off of me, man.” Shun jumped away from him with a huge grin, Hiroki on the other hand was not as happy. He looked at his watch, it was past midnight and Renge might already be asleep but he didn't want to call her just to check so he and Shun made their way to the apartment, hoping that she was still awake.
“And if she's asleep you will...” Hiroki whispered as he quietly placed his shoes next to the door and motioned for Shun to follow him.
“Go home. I got it the first five times you told me.” Shun whispered back in an annoyed tone although he wasn't annoyed at all, he was in fact surprised.
He had never seen his friend being as considerate as when it came to this girl. Sure, he was a great guy but he had never acted like this and it made Shun question if there really wasn't something going on between him and the girl.
“Hiroki, what are you doing sneaking around in the middle of the night? People might mistake you for a burglar.” The livingroom was suddenly lit up and once Hiroki's and Shun's eyes had gotten used to the light they saw a girl sitting on the couch in the lotus position with a bunch of papers scattered around her. She stood up and walked over to her roommate, so close he could count her eyelashes. She looked him in the eyes with such seriousness Hiroki gulped in nervousness and he hoped that she didn't notice.
“You've been drinking.” She simply stated in a tired voice and then turned to Shun looking at him with the same seriousness as she had with Hiroki. “You too.”
She sat down on the couch again and grabbed one of the papers and started moving her pencil over it again, thereby completely ignoring the two boys, leaving them utterly confused.
“This is Shun, one of my best friends.” Hiroki introduced and pointed at Shun who waved a little with a childish smile but Renge didn't even look at him.
“I know.” She simply said and continued what she was doing. Shun glanced over at Hiroki who looked as clueless as he felt and after showing his friend to sit down in one of the armchairs he sat down next to the girl.
“Renge. Is something wrong?” Hiroki asked in a soft voice but the other didn't respond. “Come on, Renge. Talk to me.” He placed his hand over the hand that clutched onto the pencil. Her entire body was stiff and Hiroki moved closer until her grip loosened and she let go off the pencil which rolled off the paper and down on the floor but no one reached for it.
“I went by the orphanage today on my way home from work and I saw this little girl, she couldn't have been more than five years. She just sat there all alone in the grass, she was crying and no one was there to dry her tears. She was holding onto something that looked like a family-photo and when she looked at it she looked so.... lonely.” Renge shook her head, as if trying to get the crying girl out of her mind but the sad look on the girl's face didn't fade away. She took a deep breath and then looked straight into Hiroki's eyes with tears running down her cheeks.
“Did you know that once you have passed the age of two it's basically impossible to get adopted? Most of the kids that I used to live together with, my best friends in the whole world, ran away, hoping for a better life even without a family... There is only one of those kids that hasn't been found dead.” She wiped her tears and then showed him a smile before hugging him.
“Renge?” Hiroki blushed a little but hugged her back and he felt her relax from his touch.
“I'm alright now, thanks for listening, Hiroki.” She laughed and then turned her gaze to Shun. “I'm sorry for that awkward situation, I'm just a little sensitive when it comes to orphans. Old habit, I guess.” She laughed, stood up and walked to the kitchen saying something about how she had cooked enough dinner for the three of them.
Shun looked after the now happy girl and with a raised eyebrow he turned to Hiroki.
“Your girlfriend is a little weird, ne?” He chuckled a little but it was enough for Hiroki to get mad.
“What's that supposed to mean?” He asked in a poisonous voice catching the other by surprise.
“Whoa, Hiroki. It was just a joke, no need to get all protective.” Shun replied seriously.
“Good, because I will not forgive anyone who makes fun of Renge. Not even if that person happens to be you.” Hiroki leaned back in on the couch and just as Shun was about to say something Renge appeared in the room again with a big tray in her hands.
“Here we are, dinner is... served.” She noticed the strange atmosphere in the room as soon as she entered and with a questioning look at the two she placed the tray on the table before sitting down next to Hiroki. “What is with this serious aura? You guys are going to do permanent damage to this room if you don't lighten up a bit.” She placed a plate in front of Hiroki and Shun before grabbing one herself and started eating the lasagna.
Two hours later Shun left the apartment with a smile. After dinner they had started talking and Shun had been surprised to find that Renge had been more laid back than he had first thought. She didn't seem to be dazed by the fact that she was sitting in Narimiya Hiroki's apartment and that she was talking to the famous actor Oguri Shun. He didn't like to brag about himself but he knew that he had a lot of fans out there and that some of them would even give one of their hands just to see him in real life.
And yet Renge had acted like he was a normal person, not a celebrity or like someone important but like the kind of guy he could only be with his closest friends and family.
She was really a wonderful girl and he was utterly amazed that Hiroki hadn't just attacked her for being so perfect but then again he had never been the kind of guy to be able to step on a woman's heart.
“Whatever she is to you, Hiroki.... Hold on to it or someone might just steal her away from you.” He smiled to himself, stuck his hands in his jeans-pockets and headed in the direction of his own home.
“He's a really nice guy.” Renge smiled as she sorted her sketches. Hiroki who was too busy adoring her beautiful face didn't answer her.
“Hiroki?” Renge asked and looked at him. No answer. “Oi, Narimiya Hiroki.” She leaned in until her face was so close to his she could feel his warm breath on her face and he jerked when he realized that she was so close.
“U... Um.” He swallowed nervously and Renge laughed.
“Shun-kun. He's a really nice guy.” She smiled and her eyes sparkled when she looked at him.
They had already lived together for a whole month but for Hiroki it had felt like a whole year, everyday when he woke up he knew that he would be dazzled by her beauty and whenever she smiled at him he felt like he could fly to the moon and back. For a whole month he had to keep those feelings to himself and it was slowly killing him.
“Hiroki. Are you okay?” Renge waved a hand in front of his eyes but the other seemed lost in his thoughts so she slumped back on the couch with a small pout and wondered about what she could do to wake him up again.
She let her mind wander to what Shun had done before he had left. He had leaned in and kissed her cheek with a smile but just after the kiss he had whispered something in her ear, something that had made her blush like crazy:
“The best way to break the silence is with a kiss. Think about it, guys like Hiroki need a little push in the right direction sometimes.” Then he had left.
Renge thought back on her month with Hiroki. She was not shy around him like she had been around Take and she always felt happy when she was with him, whenever he touched her body she felt safe and secure, not exposed and vulnerable like Take always made her feel. Hiroki wasn't the kind of guy to do all of those things without meaning anything by it, she knew him well enough to know that but she was still unsure about whether or not she should tell him about how she felt.
What if he didn't feel the same way about her? What would happen to their friendship then? Would it crumble or would it survive and become stronger? She was so confused about that whole thing, her heart wanted her to tell but her brain kept coming up with completely reasonable excuses for not telling.
Suddenly the room's surroundings started to fade and Renge rubbed her tired eyes to make the illusion go away but when she opened them again the room had been completely replaced by a garden outside a house. The house somehow seemed familiar but Renge couldn't quite place it, it was sunny and in the bright light everything seemed to have a bright-yellow tone but it was probably just her imagination.
The house was big and it seemed to be able to fit at least ten people, there was a porch in front of where Renge was standing and as she slowly walked closer she saw something that made her chest tighten.
A little girl, probably about six years old, was sitting on her mother's lap on the sunny porch while the beautiful mother was braiding her daughter's long, black hair. She was smiling a warm smile and her eyes sparkled as if they wanted to tell the world how happy they were.
“Mommy, how do you know if you love someone? If he is special? Like dad is to you.” The little girl had turned to her mother and she looked unexpectedly serious for someone so young.
Her mother chuckled a little and stroked the girl's long bangs from her face and secured it behind her ears. She looked into her daughter's eyes with a smile and said in an angel-like voice:
"If he is the first thing you think of when you wake up, the only thing you think of when you're awake, and the last thing you think of before you go to bed, then he is really somebody special." She kissed the little girl and again she heard the mother's soft voice. “One day you will find that special person, Renge. You just have to be patient.” Then she turned around and looked straight into her grown-up daughter's eyes with those sparkling ones. Her familiar, almost forgotten smile made tears roll down Renge's face and her mother spoke again.
“You've grown up to be such a beautiful young woman, my little flower. Whatever choice you make from now on... Let it come from your heart.” She gracefully reached out a hand and wiped away her daughter's tears before she with a smile disappeared in the wind along with the little girl on her lap.
Renge stood still and watched how the big house dissolved in the warm breeze and left her in, what was once again, her livingroom.
She was sitting on the couch next to Hiroki who still hadn't moved a muscle since she had left him. She looked at his face, the beautiful face that made so many admire and adore him. His eyes were closed as if he was asleep but it just made him look better.
She realized that she had always been attracted to Hiroki and right now she wanted to be close to him as much as she possibly could without being a nuisance.... Come to think of it: The first thing she thought about in the morning when she woke up was him....
Renge looked at the man again and smiled to herself.
She leaned in and slowly she pressed her lips against his, she felt him jerk back to life but she didn't allow herself to move just yet. She stayed like that, lips against his, for a couple of seconds before pulled back and looked into his eyes with a shy smile.
Her stomach was currently being inhabited by thousands of butterflies and she felt like giggling when she saw the surprised look on his face.
“Renge... What... what are you doing?” He stuttered but Renge placed a finger over his lips and placed herself in his lap, coming face to face with him and smiled at him.
“It's been a month already, did you honestly think that I could hold out any longer?” She brought her lips to his again and this time she felt a pair of strong hands stroke her back as they pressed their bodies closer until the only thing between them were the clothes on their bodies.
Renge could feel how Hiroki's hands fingered the lining of her bra through her tanktop but he didn't show any signs of wanting to rid it from her body but when he brought one of his hands under her top she gasped in surprise, it felt really good as opposed to what her first time had felt like.
It had been with some club-manager in exchange for allowing her to stay in the club for a few days, he hadn't been rough or mean to her but she had still felt nothing when being with him. She hadn't told anyone about it, as far as she was concerned it was just something that happened and people didn't really need to know about it.
Hiroki slowly trailed a finger over her neck, causing her to moan softly at his light touch. He leaned closer to the beautiful girl in front of him, he kissed her lips and it didn't take long for Renge to gasp in surprise when his tongue made contact with hers. Although she wasn't really aware of what to do she allowed him to lead her, he would never do anything that she didn't want to and with that in mind she started moving her tongue against his, getting bolder and bolder for every second until they were both out of air. They broke the kiss and looked into each other's eyes, panting hard for air and although Hiroki had doubted whether or not he should continue with it or not, the hungry look in Renge's eyes filled his body with the urge to make her call out his name, to see her slim body arch under him, to hear her breathing turn into moans. To make her his, once and for all.
“Renge... If you don't want to do this now: Tell me before I'm unable to stop myself.” He held her still and looked into her eyes, fearing for a second that she would say no but she didn't.
A soft hand traveled from his chest where it had been resting, over his trained abs and when the hand reached the hem of his shirt it swiftly placed itself under the thin shirt and started to travel over the skin. Hiroki shivered at her soft hand on his skin, he groaned a little as it stroked over his nipples and continued to his collarbone.
He sat up straight again and with his mouth covering Renge's he started to undo his shirt. Moments later the item landed on the floor, quickly followed by the girl's top and bra.
She was now straddling him, wearing only a pair of tight jeans and a pair of underwear and yet she had never felt more sheltered and unexposed, his strong hands washed away all of her uncertainty and with a soft moan she broke the kiss and stood up to quickly remove her jeans and underwear and he was not late in doing the same.
They sat back down on the couch, Renge still straddling Hiroki and with a smirk he caught her lips in another mind-blowing kiss although his aching cock wanted nothing but to thrust into the goddess on top of him.
For a second Renge felt a little scared of what she knew was about to happen but as if Hiroki had sensed her hesitating, he broke the kiss and looked into her eyes.
“You just say the word and we'll stop. The important thing is that you are up for this.” He brushed away a few strands of her bangs from her eyes and a moment later Renge was smiling at him again.
“That's all I need to know.” She breathed and leaned in to kiss him hungrily as if their lips had been parted for an eternity. Hiroki turned them around so that he was the one on top and she was the one laying down on the couch, he placed himself at her entrance and the slowly pushed in until he was fully sheathed.
They both gasped for air at the tightness and Hiroki found himself having trouble breathing calmly as the heat around his cock made him see stars. After allowing Renge to adjust to his size he started to move, painfully slow and as he carefully thrust into her she moaned loudly and it didn't take long for her to start begging for him to go faster. Being close as he was, he was more than happy to oblige and it wasn't long until they were both moaning each other's names. Their naked bodies, gleaming in sweat, rocking together in a furious pace, their ragged voices breathing words neither of them understood until they with loud screams came together, riding on the waves of the orgasm until it faded out leaving the two of them panting for air.
After a little while their breaths were back to normal and although the couch was a little uncomfortable they made no attempt to move from it. Hiroki rolled around so that Renge was once again on top and she gave him a questioning look when she tiredly realized that he had.
“If I'd stayed on top of you, you would most surely suffocate. And we can't have that now, can we?” He kissed the tip of her nose softly causing her to giggle a little and then wrapped an arm around her back to keep her close, pulled a blanket from the couch, placed it over them and with tired smiles they both drifted into the bliss of sleep.
