It’s late when Dean pushes open the door and peers into the shadows. The low pulse of music rolls from the corner and he can see her swaying gently to it. It’s the humanity in the movement that gets him, the passion.
He approaches her, taking her around the waist. She tenses until she can make his face out in the dark. And then they dance.
He takes a moment for his own peace before looking up and finding Castiel’s shape, on the bed. The angel’s eyes follow them closely. The music means nothing to him. He will never understand.
