[ Firo abandons his walk in the park in favor of watching Kyoko and her knives. He finds a spot off to the side so he doesn't get pegged by a knife and stands there, intrigued. ]

[Since he isn't bothering her, or really seem to be showing any aggressive tendencies, Kyoko will finish her shots before she acknowledges him, simply nodding faintly]

It's not exactly the most used skill. [She agrees] But I find it very useful.

[ It sure looks like it would make taking down an enemy with a gun easier. ]

Do you ever fight with 'em normally? Not throwin' 'em, I mean.

I can, but I don't prefer to. [She tilts her head] Why, do you do combat with knives?

[justdumbluck]

Yeah. It's a Family tradition, you could say.

[ Even in modern times the Camorra prefers knives to guns. ]

Why don't you like fightin' up close?

I see. It can be useful if you're in a bad situation.

As for the close-in, it doesn't suit my job.

[justdumbluck]

[ If he thinks about it, her words make sense. ]

We do wind up in a lot of bad situations.

What's your job?

[ Maybe she's an assassin, like Claire. Though Claire's methods are more up close and personal, as well as plain crazy, he knows that some assassins prefer distance attacks. ]

[Totally straight face because this is entirely true]

[ He stares at her blankly while he tries to remember where he's heard that before. ]

...You mean like those guys who'd sneak around and kill people?

[ That's all he managed to glean from the history lessons Yagulma provided him with. ]

[She looks a bit contemplative about that, before giving a vague smile.]

We are capable of killing if it is necessary, but mostly we gain information for people. However, we do sneak quite well, yes.

[ He's thinking of the Daily Days information brokers who manage to stay rather prosperous from their information brokering. ]

It really depends. We work mostly for the Emperor, but we keep up on things too.

[justdumbluck]

He's the guy in charge of the country, isn't he? So you're like a spy?

[ralschild]

Yes he is. He runs all of Japan.

And yes. Although, we serve the Emperor in many other ways as well. It all depends on what it is he needs of us.
