Home just in time for celebration!

It was against the recommendation of the doctor, but Ralph couldn't care less. She was finally going home today. She felt better; her Slayer genes had healed most of the damage, and although she still felt confused sometimes or lived in the past, Ralph felt good enough to return. Her sight still hadn't returned, but the doctor had said it himself ( Read more... )

Cameras. Cameras would be a good move. That was the current mindset of Ralph's newest roommate. Roxy Araceli was hard at work, as she tended to be, fiddeling around with a better security system than the school could provide. Or at least one that she THOUGHT would be better. OK so maybe it was something that she should go over with (at the very least) her roommates. But it never hurt to have things ready for installation ( ... )

There was a bit of fumbling near the door before Ralph managed to pull it open. But the woman immediately froze in her tracks as she sensed someone other that Jessie or Seven. A fourth person, perhaps Elphaba?

"Elphie?" she asked in a small, hopeful voice. "Elphie? Y-you're back?" Ralph shuffled a bit further inside, a bit closer to this new person. She hardly dared to hope. After her girlfriend had so suddenly left more than a year ago - almost one and half years now - Ralph didn't really think she would come back from Oz. But still... Maybe... maybe she had returned? Elphaba's powers were, after all, awesome. Maybe she had felt it when the accident happened and came back to take care of her.

The fumbling went unnoticed by Roxy. But the when she was addressed, and immediately leaped out of her seat. Greeting Ralph's ears would not be the familiar sound of her long departed girlfriend, but a cacophony of crashing noises and an unfamiliar and startled shout of Roxy ( ... )

"Oh." Despite her best attempt, disappointment could be clearly heard in her voice. This must be that new girl Jessie and Katelyn mentioned. This was the person who was filling up the place of her girlfriend. She couldn't help but feel a little hatred towards this girl, usurping Elphaba's place.

Though she had always known it was coming. A room for four girls with only three girls in it... sooner or later the fourth place would be filled with a fourth girl. Apparently, that fourth girl was Roxy.

"I'm Ralph. Where's Jessie? Or Seven?" Ralph didn't know why, but she suddenly felt... threatened by this girl's presence and wanted someone around she knew and trusted.

(OOC: XD Poor Roxy...she just can't catch a break, now can she?)

"Uh...not sure, to be honest." she said, looking around the room for a moment. This certainly was an awkward moment. Her roommate did not seem all together thrilled to be meeting her. Not that she could entirely blame her. From all accounts, it was far from a pleasant stay in that hospital. Everyone she had talked with so far did not talk lightly about Ralph's accident.

"Kinda just me hangin' out for a moment. Gettin' a little work done on......" she paused for a moment. Perhaps now was not the best time to toss out her ideas. Besides, she did want to go over this with all three of them. "...a personal project."

Roxy glanced over to the camera set-up she had been working on. "So...Ralph...what're ya gonna do now that you're back?" she asked, "If I ain't mistaken, we got a little while until classes start back up."

It may not have been the best attempt at smalltalk, but Roxy felt she still deserved some credit for trying.

"N-no... I don't know..." She held on tightly to the door. "I want Jessie here. Or Seven. Or Katelyn." Ralph began to back away a little, no matter how badly she wanted to go to her bed and lie down on it. She just didn't want to be alone in a room with a girl she'd never met before and who she couldn't even see.

OOC: Nope, not really. XD; Not to mention how pissed she'll be if she finds out about Roxy's plans. This is like the only place Ralph has now and she's rather protective about it.

Roxy settled back down into her chair and turned it around so that she faced her roommate. She did seem to be thrilled with her. Not at all. As if her body language didn't say that, she basically came right out and said as much.

"Well, sorry, but I'm not sure where they are and how to get in touch with them." she said, "But, I'm sure they'll swing by sooner rather than later I mean it is......"

Roxy looked around, searching for a clock. One did not seem to be on hand.

"...OK, so I don't know what time it is." she gave up her search, "But hey, uh...why not take a load off? I mean it is your room too, after all!"

She grinned and tried her best at giving a pleasant tone to her voice. This was the girl returning from a hospital after all. The least she could do was make her feel welcome in her room.

(OOC: XD Hahahaha...but that's what Roxy is trying to DO XD)

A quiet voice added just a few brief words. "I am already here, Ralph." The voice belonged to Seven, lying on the top bunk just above her blind friend. Acting as if everything were perfectly normal - as to her it was, this room being hers as well - she calmly opened a book to where she had left off and began to read.

((OOC: No, she wasn't there a few minutes ago. And she didn't come in through a door or window or anything. But next time Roxy looks over in that direction, she's just propped up and reading as if nothing at all is the matter.))

"S-Seven..." Relief flooded her mind and could be heard in her voice. Ralph relaxed a bit and let go of the door she had been holding so tightly. With Seven around, she already felt a little more at ease. Even though she didn't know this Roxy, nor if she could trust her, she knew she could trust Seven.

She shuffled into the room, still feeling a bit uneasy about Roxy's presence, but less scared than before now that Seven was here. Her bed... where was her bed again?

The voice may have been quiet, but it was quite starteling to Roxy, who leapt out of her chair once more and once again was cursing and trying to keep her set-up from crashing again.

"Where did...how...ah, never mind..." she said she struggeled to keep from jumping straight out of her own skin. The sudden appearance of Seven had merely taken her by surprise. She did like the girl, even if she was a bit strange...after all, the quiet German was the one who got that crazy ninja off her back.

Ralph was shuffeling into the room as Roxy made sure the damage to her newly aquired devices were not seriously damaged from her leaping about.

"Well, there ya have it." she said to Ralph, "Seven's here. Don't know when she got here...but there she is."

She scratched her head in puzzelment as she looked back up at the other girl wondering just where she made her enterance.

"I arrived only a few minutes ago," the girl then stated in answer to the indirect question from her newest roommate, saying little more. She did not even look up from her book. "I heard my name, and introduced myself for Ralph's benefit."

Ralph smiled a bit at that. Trust Seven to be calm like that. It was comforting, it made her feel even more relaxed.

"Ralph-san," she then heard coming from the doorway. A voice she knew belonged to Akiko. That was rather surprising, seeing how she and Akiko rarely interacted. "Haite... haite mo ii?"

"Akiko..." But Ralph didn't know how to answer. She hardly even knew what Akiko said. "Seven... what did she ask? All I know is that she asked if something is okay."

And, of course, that crazy little ninja had pop her head in. Why, out of all of her fellow classmates, did she have to have HER as a neighbor. It didn't really matter that it was a misunderstanding. Roxy just could not relax in that girl's presence. It was simply an impossibility. Akiko said something that Roxy could not understand. Obviously, seeing as how that was the start of the whole mess that came about after she arrived here, in the first place. The Hopi Indian kept a close eye on Akiko. Not being able to understand what we was talking about only seemed to further her suspicious nature.

The girl inwardly sighed. Just because Akiko did not know English, and because very few others aside from the native Japanese knew that language, the quiet girl did not really see why she must always be the one to translate when she was more than content to simply fade into the background. Very little of this was made known on her face in her expressions, however, which remained neutral as usual.

"She's requesting entry," came the calm, almost bland response as Seven addressed her injured roommate. "She wants to know if it is okay to come in to see you."

((OOC: At least, I think that's what haite mo ii means?)) *sweatdrops*

"Oh," Ralph responded. "I see." She turned a bit towards the door opening, knowing Akiko must still be there. "Ii yo," she then said, knowing that part meant it was alright. "You can come in. Come in. It's alright."

Akiko lit up at the permission given, though she still hesitated. Entering someone else's room was still not something she did as easily as most other people. She placed carefully one foot in the room, and then the other. She clutched a box tightly against her chest as she cautiously crossed the room to Ralph.

"Ralph-san," she said once she stood before the blind woman. Then with crisp movements, she extended the present and bowed deeply. "Odaijini."

Ralph, however, unable to understand what was said and unable to see that Akiko held out a gift for her, turned helplessly to Seven again.

OOC: You got it right. ;) And 'odaijini' is like 'get better soon'. It's what people say to sick people. XD

"She's standing before you now, bowing." Seven added this for the sake of her blinded friend. Normally she would have said nothing, but given Ralph's condition she thought it cruel to force her to beg. Her assistance in translating was given freely. "She's standing perhaps one point five meters away, extending a box outward in both arms." The normally quiet girl paused to turn the page. "As can already be inferred, she is addressing you politely and wishing you a speedy recovery."
