Why does the calendar in my sidebar show May already when today is still April 30th?

Because LJ is weird, because LJ is strange and likes to confuse the heck out of everyone, because in other parts of the world it is May 1. Maybe??

Mine shows April. Is your computer clock set differently? Did you tell LJ you live in a different time zone?

ETA ! SECOND LATER OKAY WTF, now it says MAY. The common denominator appears to be contact with YOU. :D

Nope, that's the first thing I checked. The time zone is still correct.

I don't know. Why is the calendar on my computer on May when we're still in April? Can't tell you that either. :)
