Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days - Living down to every expectation

Despite a lot of objections from me about how we're only going to encourage Squeenix if we keep giving them money for this crap, pinneagig ordered in the Japanese version of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days a little while ago to see how it held up against our first impressions. Hm, we were playing the game in Japanese, and I vaguely recall that line coming across a bit differently (more 'where are you' than 'who's next', though it's been a while and I may be misremembering), and I can't say it bothered me at the time. I think what I find defining there is that Sora was talking to a group of enemies, who he had been lead to believe to that point were only capable of faking emotion, and who had already gone out of their way to threaten him and his friends - so the fact he made it clear he wasn't going to go easy on them was actually something I liked about him.

I did have some trouble with another part of that scene though - the part where Sora and co are gloating over the fact that Nobodies don't have hearts struck me as a little unnecessarily flippant and cruel, even given the fact it was only what Yen Sid had told them. Demyx's reaction certainly didn't do much to contradict them though, and Sora did seem perfectly willing to accept Axl's feelings for Roxas as real towards the end of the game (confused as he was on the subject after that), so I'm mostly willing to write it off as a moment of stupid. Worthwhile discussion point though.
