The rover seems to be doing everything it's supposed to be doing, to which I heartily say, "Yay!"
I talked to my friend who still works at JPL and she said there's camera crews everywhere, and that the whole bottom level of the west parking lot is filled with vans and antennas and there's tents and mini-sandlots on the mall. She said, "It landed! What are they all still doing here?!"
I said, "They're waiting for it to do stuff."
Going out to Nevada with the family this weekend since a family friend is having a grand opening for their restaurant out at Stateline. We're staying in Henderson and my dad's golfing on Saturday, so Mom and I are going into Vegas for the day. It should be fun, since I haven't been out there since the week of my 21st birthday. I'm going to see if I can drag her to the Star Trek Experience. :)
I am trying to get one of my mom's coworkers hooked on Anita Blake and Discworld. She likes sci-fi, fantasy, and horror, so I gave her Guilty Pleasures, The Light Fantastic, Equal Rites, and Mort. I have my fingers crossed. Mwahahahaha! Ahem.
I have the headache from hell and I am freezing, so I am going to go huddle under my blankets and read for a while before I go to bed. I finished The Lunatic Cafe and I've started Bloody Bones. And crap... now I have to remember where in this house I left it...
