(no subject)
I figured out why I got sick in NC last week! It happened on Wednesday. Incidentally, Wednesday is when I ran out of vacation time and started using my sick time. TPTB, in their infinite wisdom, must have decided that if I was going to use my sick time, I was damn well going to be sick!
My desk was surprisingly spotless today! They did all of my work for me while I was gone! I was shocked. I need to go on vacation at end of month more often! Of course, I didn't bother to tell Corporate that I was going to be gone last week (I thought I had -- maybe I'd sort of figured... they're Corporate, they should know!), and the invoices my coworkers created in my absence weren't checked for errors, since they're swamped over there. Cue the phone calls from angry and confused customers! I'm sure I'll be getting them for a few days.
The fact that my desk was bare meant that I had time to contemplate the story I've been working on for, oh, eighteen months now! rcampuzano unblocked me at about 4 am sometime last week after an hour or so of babbling, and I can't thank you enough, hon! I'm actually making progress! And then, tonight, when I got home, maquisleader helped me untangle it even more! I'm excited to be writing again, for the first time in quite a while.
Of course, it would be nice if I could actually access the damn file. Best Buy sucks. I took my laptop in yesterday and they said all I needed was a power cord and to call the 800 number and tell them to send me a new one. He said there should be no problem.
Which means, problem, right? I called at lunch today, and the girl -- who was rude -- said, "Well, did he give you a service order number?"
Well, no, I didn't know I needed one.
"Well, I can't help you without a service order number. You need to take it back and get one."
*headdesk*
So I went to Best Buy again after work today and got the freaking service order number -- thankfully, they believed me when I told them what'd happened with it and didn't require another stupid test, they just wrote up the service order. So tomorrow I'll call again and hopefully my freaking power cord will be on the way!
And, OMG, if you haven't seen this, you have to go see! It's Battle-Scarred Puppet!Angel! With removable nose! He's adorable!
After spending all week in NC with Puppet!Angel, I have decided that I need one. It is now totally worth the $50 that it wasn't a week and a half ago.
