Yay for morale building!

Just got back from Medieval Times (warning, the site has music -- scared the crap out of me!). My boss somehow managed to get the company to pay for it for the customer service department, as a morale building exercise.

Best morale building exercise ever! Not only were we in the dark and not facing each other (so no talking to each other), but hello, cute knights battling!

Or, mock battling. Some of the fighting was pretty cheesy, but it was so much fun! And some of that stuff does take real skill. I don't know if the show changes from night to night -- it was the first time I've been -- but some of the early games can't be choreographed completely -- sometimes you grab the ring with the ribbon, and sometimes you don't, I'm sure. Our knight (the yellow knight) got bested in the first round of jousting -- wimp -- but it was still fun. We were cheering so loud for him -- my voice is just as hoarse as it is after a baseball game.

The only bad part was that one of the guys I work with came with his girlfriend, and he clearly didn't want to be there. They left like ten minutes into it. I was thinking, if you didn't want to be here, why did you drive all this way out here? He's such a snob. We were all cheering and I heard him tell his girlfriend, "I don't know what they're all getting excited about, this is so stupid." And then a few minutes later, they left. His girlfriend was a bitch too. She was friendly enough to me, but she was just rude to all the other women there. I think she was only nice to me because she doesn't think I'm a threat. Bitch, he's rude, you can have him anyway!

Other than him, it was fun, and did I mention they have cool swords for sale? I wish I had a spare $400 or $500 laying around. I'd like to get one to hang over my fireplace. With maybe a bat'leth, too.

And then I came home and found out my Angels beat the Dodgers again! Squee! That means that no matter what happens tomorrow, they win the series, and have a winning record against the Dodgers this year. Even if the Dodgers win tomorrow, we'll have taken four of six. Seven out of nine games for the year if you count the Spring Training sweep. I can't wait until Monday -- Rudy, one of the yard guys at work, was certain his team was going to sweep mine.
