Today, as I was getting ready to leave, we were all talking about our New Year's plans, and Kirk said, half-whiningly, "I have to go to a wedding tomorrow."
So I said, "Oh, really? My best friend's going to a wedding tomorrow, too. Whose wedding are you going to?"
And he said, "My niece."
And I thought, Hmm, his niece and Rebecca's friend Keri are probably about the same age. I know Keri's family lives out this way, and her family is very, very religious, just like Kirk's. They're both getting married tomorrow. What are the odds? And I asked him what his niece's name was.
And he said, "Keri."
*blink*
No freaking way!
Insert the Small World theme.
It's too funny, because he's been talking about this niece and her wedding plans for a month or so, and I never connected it. He says Keri's mom and her cousins are calling her Bridezilla because she's so gung ho about her wedding and everything, and now that I know it's Keri, it makes me laugh even more.
He asked me, "If I mention you, will she know who you are?"
I shrugged and told him, "Probably. If she doesn't, just say 'Rebecca's friend Lisa,' and she'll know me."
I called Rebecca and told her and she said, "Your boss is Keri's uncle?!"
So, my best friend gets to meet my boss tomorrow. Weird.
