grumble grumble get off my lawn

So, what's the point in having a girlfriend, if:

- She seems really interested! What with cuddles, and make-outs, etc, but...
- She doesn't have a phone
- She may or may not have lost your number
- She never checks her email

I guess it serves me right for not ensuring that plans exist for the next time we will see each other before the last time we parted ways. Regardless, it's really frustrating. I'm stuck between believing that if she really wanted to go out she would make more of an effort to contact me, and that maybe I'm just being impatient. EDIT: my unwarranted fears were unwarranted. In unrelated news, my customer service skills increase tenfold after she calls me at work :)

In other news, I no longer live in Surrey, meaning my bullet/knife dodging skills won't have to be exercised so often, lucky me :) I was getting pretty good at it too, ending of most my excursions outside the house relatively unscathed. My new house is in Burnaby, 5 minutes walk from where I work, and there's EVEN MORE comfortable seating space for our movie night needs. Speaking of which, the next one won't be for a few weeks, but rest assured it will be full of the awesome.

I bought silvi's mixer/CD decks, and now kick several times as much ass at bringing wonderful music to the ears of eager ravers listeners. I've yet to master the subtle art of cross-mixing two tracks at once, which I was watching Lucky do at some unmentionable event that may or may not have occurred, but I could probably start playing at the club soon. I want to get a little better first though, but I've been getting a lot of practice in, so getting better shouldn't take long either :)

That said, I've been having issues finding a reasonable way of recording my sets... I tried downloading Audacity and Goldwave on my laptop, and running the recording output into the mic in, and recording to 44khz... The audio in on the laptop sounds perfect, but when I record it, whatever gets recorded sounds very different from the audio that I hear going through the laptop. It's like it's being normalized somehow, the high end sounds muffled and unclean, and otherwise not worthy of making a mixtape out of and sending to Chris. Anyone have any suggestions? That hopefully don't involve buying a $300 soundcard or mbox2?
