Today was a great day! MY new cousin was born today and we were there! I’ll break it down for ya from start to finish:
Since my Aunt was having high blood pressure they induced her, and we got the message and after much time waste we left for the Methodist hospital. We got there and no one was in the labor room, so we checked around and Dad asked and found their room. Aunt Janet, Uncle Mike, and Karen were all in the room. We talked a bit and it turns out that at one point her blood pressure dropped to something like 70 over 40 or 60 over 40 (some where along those lines)! They said it was really scary, the baby wasn’t doing well either all life signs were going all crazy. After they gave her some magnesium (I believe) it went down. It happened because they gave her the epidural and she was dehydrated and it went down. It all turned out ok though.
We left the room when my cousins and the others came because it was getting a little to crowded. The kids left with us. From there we went to the waiting room and hung out there for a while. We went upstairs to see the nursery, and there was a baby there. It was so cute!
After some more waiting we went to Stacey’s car and changed the girls backpack from her car to our car. I felt pretty weird in the hospital, like I was going to mess something up, or give someone a disease. I’m such a freak. I was being extra quite and all. We went back to the waiting room and I listened to Stacey and Karen talk, it was interesting, I had nothing better to do. Stacey then got an update; she had gone from 4 to 6 in like 20 minutes! History has it that after she passes 5 she goes in like an hour! Which is exactly what happened! After one more hour of waiting Uncle Mike came in and said, “It’s a girl, her name is Mia Joy.” He was crying, and the cousins were way excited. It was pretty touching. His kids went first (my cousins) and they saw Mia.
I have to say I do like the name. I’ll tell you about the meaning later. The kids came back like ten minutes later and Jubilee, and Jocelyn were bawling. They said she was beautiful and perfect. Ben was crying subtly at the corner of the room. Mike said that they had to do some tests. So after about 10 more minutes, he came back in and told us that Aunt Janet was Breastfeeding and that the girls who hadn’t seen her can go, which was Bekah and Stacey. Karen had already seen her, Jerry had, and so had the kids. The kids went back a second time, and then finally after that us guys got to go.
Dad, Kenny and I, went with Karen again. We went in and Aunt Janet was holding Mia. What a beautiful baby, she weighed 6 pounds 3 ounces. She wasn’t crying when we were there, she was just taking in the new surroundings. Her eyes were wide open and she was staring, her face was round, and she was petite. The prettiest baby I had ever seen. Karen held her first and then Uncle Mike asked Dad if he wanted too, and he held her. Aunt Janet told us the meaning of Her name. Mia is a feminine version of Mike, and Joy because Aunt Janet’s Father died 10 years ago on the 2nd, and then Joy comes right after the 3rd, when Mia was born. I like the name a lot more, after hearing the meanings. Uncle Mike asked Dad to pray for Mia; later on Dad told me that he was really honored. He prayed a beautiful prayer for her, and Mike’s hand was touching Mia’s. Really great! The baby was hungry again and so we left and made arrangements to take the kids home.
We had to move the bags back to Stacey’s car. So we walked with Karen who was taking Ben and Mrs. Jerry home, back to our car that was next to Hers. We drove to Champs (about 15 seconds away) and put the bags into Stacey’s car. Stacey took home Bekah, Jocelyn, Maggie, and Jubilee. So it was just us guys, Dad, Kenny and I. We came home and told Mom about it, in more detail. She really wanted to go but she was working, too bad. She is probably visiting her right now as I type. So we watched part of Harry Potter POA. And I was really tired and fell asleep. I woke up at about six and answered an e-mail. And started to write.
Mia Joy: 6 pounds 3 ounces, 19 inches, born at 10:50 P.M., December 3, 2004.
Well that’s it; Mia and I are going to be great friends. I am going to eat and do the piano now. Have a great day! Bye!
